The outfit is alright ,she just has too much jewellery on, she should ditch the necklace

for me the challange is to find something she wore that was really beautifull and I would love to have. (She does have a friendly face though)

So am I the only one who thinks this kind of blue too flashy?

I think from all that I have seen of her, that she is a person of a strong character, and quite dominant in the Dutch RF, she seems to get along with them all and seems to have the right upbringing for this kind of life. BTW does she have a job\career? or is her only career being royal?

I copied this from the website of the royal house:
"Princess Laurentien started her career as a video journalist for CNN Headline News in Atlanta, Georgia (USA), where she worked from 1991 to 1992. From 1992 to 1995, she was executive director of the Belmont European Policy Centre in Brussels, a think tank on European affairs. From 1995 to 1997 she worked for Philip Morris in Brussels, where she was manager of government relations. In 1997 she was appointed deputy director of Edelman Worldwide, an international public relations agency, and in February 2000 joined the board of directors of the Brussels branch of Adamson BSMG Worldwide, an international consultancy specialising in strategic communications and public affairs. After their marriage in May 2001, Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien went to live in London, where the Princess worked for BSMG Worldwide, the consultancy she had worked for in Brussels. In London, she was head of Corporate Communications Practice, first for the UK, then for the European market. BSMG Worldwide merged with Weber Shandwick in January 2002. Since May 2003, she has been working as a freelance communications consultant."

Today Princess Laurentien visited the Cornerstone school in Rotterdam, where the project "All parents participates" started. From Seegerpess.

Yes, after some bad fashion choices last month, Laurentien does look very good today! And more importantly, from the photos posted of her visit to the school, she comes across as a very down to earth, approachable, and "hands on" type of person.

How can she stand to have such a long necklace around her neck?

But the dress is pretty good!

I never was a big fan of Princess Laurentien (probably some stupid reason), but over the past 6 months, she has grown on me quite a bit.

thanks for the pictures! Laurenten looks good, hard to say that she is already 39 years old. And nice to see that she is so dedicated to her cause (illiteracy), even before her marriage!

Sept. 8 2005 Laurentien carried out a series of engagements on World Literacy Day, including handing out literacy prizes at The Hague, and attending a symposium on the role of government, business and educators in the fight against illiteracy.

A speech that she gave today has been posted (in Dutch) on the official site:

This outfit is not so bad but I think she just needs to simplify a little. It's too "busu" with the necklace and the wide sleeves and the ruffles on the bottom.

there's potential here though.

I agree -- she could have left off the necklace and the belt and had simpler shoes.

The dress is nice and seems to need no help really...

I think that I should have stated earlier, as a person, Laurentien has grown on me; not her dress sense.

I love the "Orange" Family, but I question their sense of style often.

I totally agree! The meaning of the words 'Less is more' does not always seem to bother her when it comes to deciding what to wear. But I still think she's great (not considering her taste of style, of course), especially when I think about what she does for a good cause, like illiteracy.

But frankly, I'm still in shock about those two things she wore at the wedding of PC & Anita! Horrifying...

She looks really lovely in these pictures. The toned down accessories make her look more elegant, imo.

I think less is definitely more.

Doesn't Laurentien look wonderful? Is it suede? The Princess seems to like wearing leather and suede and I think she looks fabulous!

She does look very lovely. Laurentien is very much a hit or miss kind of girl when it comes to fashion. She either gets it dead right, or dead wrong. There is no middle ground. She must have two stylists - that's all I can figure! :p

Yes! That's definately true! And she really has to get rid of the bad one! And quick! I really love this beige outfit, by the way! :) And the hair, I always love her hair...
