I believe the Queen's younger children have accommodations in London as well, just not the size of Apartment 1A.
This has been discussed at great length on another thread (prior to the engagement). It appears that it is only the heirs (Charles and William) who have two large residences (both country and city). Harry (it seemed to be the prevailing opinion) would have either/or but not both. With a large country home he would have a small bolthole at BP (or maybe they will keep Nottingham Cottage as their London base).

I did say they aren't given large residences like 1A. However, a two bedroom with a couple of kids and nanny isn't exactly going to fit.

But I don't think the whole family stays at the London digs in this scenario. That is, if they have a large country house that becomes their base. The London digs are used solely when needed (by one or two people in that family) when there are events to be attended. Is this not the case with Anne? Andrew? Edward?

You are going to tell me Edward's family will be squeezed into a two bedroom when they are all in London for Trooping or other events? And Andrew's daughters have their own apartment that they share in St. James right now, don't they?

Hey, jacqui, I'm not telling you anything. Ya know? I'm just saying what has been described here. That it's an either/or for Harry and his family, not both (being large).

Maybe someone else should jump in because I am out of my depth on this.

The issue will be lifestyle and location, but I do think all scenarios are possible.

Edward and Sophie live just outside London. As such, any family or national event in London where their children attend can be done in a day and so no need to stay over in the Capital.

If Harry & Meghan have a house in the country that is further away from London, then they may need a base in the capital larger than Nottingham Cottage if they have children.

It just depends on how their life develops.

The problem with Luckington [the 'Pride and Prejudice' House'] is that there is a Public Road leading right up to the gates, which gives access to the Parish Church just beyond them. This would create privacy and security problems, I think.

Is it certain that Eugenie is at Ivy Cottage? I know there were rumours months ago that it was to be her future home but I thought that was tabloid speculation. It would be great if she is there. Harry and Eugenie have always got on well, and Meghan will too, I'm sure.

Posts relating to how Harry and Meghan kept their relationship "under wraps" have been moved to the http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums...7-a-43861.html thread.

What is the likelihood of Harry moving into Clarence House in the future? It has been confirmed that the Cambridges will remain in their current apartment through Charles's reign.

Probably minimal at best. Harry is going to need larger London apartments before Clarence house is available. And with all the renovations on Buckingham, there is a chance he will remain in Clarence when he first comes to the throne.

Yes the York girls have a four room apartment in St. James. As adults, they have their own apartment, which they pay rent on (or their dad).

Edward and Sophie are rarely in London, with the kids. Many families of 4 live in 2 bedroom apartments, and all year. I highly doubt an apartment in Buckingham is very cramped, and they are sleeping on top of each other.

What about Ivy Cottage that has been mentioned where Eugenie is living? How does that jive with having a KP apartment, too? Does she live at both at different times? Puzzle.

I think it was just mentioned that Ivy Cottage may be a possibility for Eugenie. I don't recall hearing anything that factually had her moving into it.

It was 'reported' ivy was being converted for Eugenie. There was no confirmation that it was true, or that she has made the move. Even if she has moved into Ivy, Beatrice would still need a home.

That's a big issue, unless they divert the road, which would likely cause ill-will, not so? So I guess the coming off the market when it did was coincidence.

Is there any other Cotswold property being mentioned as a possible future country house for Harry and Meghan?

Just looking myself and I could see this becoming addictive! https://www.primelocation.com/for-sa...qczD7yEl2Ml.97

Would they go for something recently built? https://www.primelocation.com/for-sa...WVYc1PwMQ3D.97

Of the ones you linked, Countessmeout, Fanthill is my favorite. I think Meghan would want a swimming pool, and lots of light and expanse. This place would be truly private. Looks to be in good shape.

£7.25million for North Aston Manor, Oxfordshire. Pricey and very nice.

I'd like to re-visit the idea of Frogmore for Prince Harry and Meghan. They've said it holds a special place in their hearts; and engagement photo's out today were taken at Frogmore.
