please note: this comes from someone who does not usually speculate. its just my feeling
I predict that P. Letizia will have her first child by Fall 2005. I just have a gut feeling. I have no news sources or even rumors or gossip to back this up. I think we'll see a new heir to the throne next year.
Thanks for posting all those wire image pictures. I really enjoyed them. I don't think I can think of another woman who wears pantsuits better than Princess Letizia. She manages to carry them of as sleak, modern and yet very feminine.
As for if she's expecting--we'll know when it's announced. But I will say that my sister-in-law is one of those infuriatingly thin women (people have more than once accused her of "not eating right" because she cannot gain an ounce.) She just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and let me tell you, at month three you couldn't tell a bit that she was expecting, and at month four she still had a belly the "average" woman would envy. So I'm not sure I would judge by the size of her belly. As Letizia herself said the other day to a reporter "everything arrives."
I know, it's Hello magazine, but it's still a cute little ditty:
SPANISH ROYALS ON CULTURAL TRIP TO BELGRADE
21 DECEMBER 2004
Spain's fashionable new crown princess and her husband Prince Felipe had a busy work schedule ahead of them when they embarked on their first visit to the Balkans since they were married in May of this year.
The striking couple, who clearly enjoy their public duties and have packed in a lot of travelling in the past few months, were in Belgrade to inaugurate a Spanish cultural centre. The new Cervantes centre, which will offer local people the chance to study Spain's languages and its culture, is located in the heart of the historic capital of Serbia-Montenegro.
Former newscaster Letizia, who has quickly become a fashion icon after appearing in a parade of gorgeous outfits at various events, was swathed in a long wool navy coat and close-fitting earth tone scarf, to keep out the frosty winter chill. The royals were due to attend a series of cultural events and official meetings before returning to Madrid to celebrate Christmas.
In Spain, expectations are running high for the crown prince and his wife to start a family, but the only royal pregnancy news was the recent announcement that Felipe's sister, the Infanta Cristina, is expecting her fourth child. The popular prince, 36, kept his people waiting for a crown princess and seems happy to enjoy his new life with Letizia before they embark on parenthood.
I just stumbled upon an online version of one of my favorite photos of Felipe and Letizia. I had only seen it before in hardcopy editions of Hola and Lecturas. In case I'm correct and it has not been available online, I thought I would post it. It was taken during the Premios Principes de Asturias in late October, right before they entered the theater. Letizia is adjusting Felipe's tie. In the original image you see their entire bodies, this one is cropped, but it's still a great image:

The family of Doña Letizia adds themself to real Christmas
Everything very traditional. Tonight the real family will share a supper of Christmas Eve in which she will not lack the typical menu; consomé , turkey, sea bream, lamb, turrones and cava. Like every year, in the hall the deprived residence of the Kings a table will be arranged bufet with different plates. The newness of these Christmases will be the presence of Doña Letizia and also from her relatives, concretely her maternal grandparents, Francisco Rocasolano and Enriqueta Rodriguez, who reside in Alicante but they move to Madrid in the occasion of the celebrations to pass them with his daughter, Dove. This year, the Rocasolano marriage, their daughter and her granddaughters will share some of the celebrations with the real family and this way the princess of Asturias will be able to have meeting to all her family.
The Dukes of Palm will move from Barcelona to Madrid to add themselves to the celebration of the Zarzuela and later they will travel to Vitoria to pass the rest of the celebrations with the Urdangarin family. The Dukes of Lugo also will be tonight in the residence of the Kings, and the 26, as every year they have predicted to travel to Soria to share days with the Marichalar family. The mother and the brothers of the Duke of Lugo celebrate every year a mass in memory of Amalio Marichalar, father of the husband of Doña Elena, who died in Soria the 26 of December of thirty years ago.
The traditional stay of the real family in Baqueira already let be it some years ago. The agglomeration of skiers in the tracks and mainly in the facilities of the valley makes the sport practice difficult, and as much the Kings, as the Princes prefer to enjoy the practice of the ski at another time of the year.
The one of today will be a supper of special Christmas Eve. In the toasts it will not lack one by the next maternity of infant Cristina, nor another one by the presence of Doña Letizia. Next year, the Dukes of Palm will go to the Zarzuela with their four children and, perhaps, the princes of Asturias share with their family their opening like parents.
