Thanks, Dazzling
Nice touch to let the children take part as well. - Good practice.
I noticed QMII's adjutant unusually walked right beside her down the stairs. To help should she feel unsure on her legs?
(Correction: He's not an adjutant. I must be going blind. So he is escorting QMII).

Thanks Dazzling, Muhler and Iceflower.
How nice to bring the oldest children to this event. I like the sculpture by Henrik.
Christian and Bella really isn't little children anymore.. Christian looks dapper in his suit and Bella looks so sweet and pretty!
It's funny, I have always thought Christian was the splitting image of Mary, and now I see more and more Frederik in him. As he stands there in his suits. The same with Bella. She (still) is the absolutely splitting image of Frederik, but I see more and more Mary in her as she grows up. Especially on the pictures from last night.

Has there been any word why Mary did not attend or was she scheduled not to attend?
It's lovely to see some of the kids attending. Thanks for the additional pictures.

She was scheduled not to attend.. and it's quite understandable and obvious, me thinks.
I guess she just wanted to spend one evening home after having had 30+ events (from early morning to late night) for 5 days in a row for the past week? And also last week had she (F&M) 4 evening events too.
I you take a quick count in the official calenda Mary has had almost 40 events on the calendar during the past 10 days
Or maybe she had some kind of after-event after the conference.
I hope Mary had made herself a good cup of coffee and has been laying on the couch with Vincent and Josephine and watched good film on Netflix her entire Friday evening

It's great to see the older grandchildren accompanying Prince Henrik to this event. Isabella has a beautiful smile!

What a wonderful surprise to see Christian, Isabella , and Felix attend.
Christian and Isabella look so cute and grown up.
Understandable that Mary stayed home.

A BB video of Christian helping grandpapa unveiling a hand.
Bella is always entertaining. Notice her facial expressions when seeing the hand.

Thanks, Polyesco.
A nice photo of the two co-regents (?) and the Us Secretary of State.
Co-regents because I have a feeling Frederik is running the DRF more and more. It's a good transition.
Did something similar happen in the Netherlands? And also Belgium and Spain, despite the abdications there not being planned as such?

I counted 12 cars coming into the square. That's a lot for a delegation. Anyway Kristian Jensen - is he Denmarks Secretary of State to USA or something like that?
We don't have one just a Foreign Affairs minister. Who does similiar work.
Yes I believe Frederik is being prepared for the top job. But not because of any Abdication. I believe Her Majesty will stay in the job for as long as she is physically able. I truly believe only severe ill health would make her step down. But then I could be wrong. A nice retirement in the South of France would be very inviting.

I would hardly say Frederik is running the DRF and I wouldn't go as far as calling him and QMII co-regents. QMII is definitely preparing him (and Mary) but her preparation of him has been a gradual process through the past many years. That he assumes a more present role next to her seems quite natural as Henrik isn't there for most official engagements such as this anymore. I also agree with Tarlita that abdication is inconceivable when talking about QMII.

Kristian Jensen is the Minister for Foreign Affairs as well as the Deputy PM.

Do you think there may be a abdication in Denmark?

Well the Queen has said time and time again she will not abdicate and that it is a job for life. I doubt there will be an abdication in Denmark anytime soon

For various reasons which I haven't got time for right now. My guess, because that's what it is, says at most there is a 15% chance of QMII abdicating within the next five years.
After five years that number drops.
