She was not playing the rings, she removed them from her right hand, held them on the left hand and continued shaking hands. Perhaps the rings were hurting her fingers while shaking hands with hundreds of people (as some posters mentioned on the Spanish forum).

I like this outfit, however, I think it would be nice if she did something to her hair. It's quite long now.

to remove the rings during the ceremony in front of the cameras is odd, letizia has been shaking zillions of hands at various events (pascua militar, national day etc) and knows what impact this will have on her hand when wearing rings. she could have worn the rings on the other hand when leaving the house, why fiddle with them in the royal palace on full display?

maybe they are so lose now on her hand that somebody could remove them from letizias finger during a firm handshake, unintentionally of course.

Interesting how this year the Prince & Princess of Asturias stood on the platform with the King and Queen, normally they stand next to it. Wonder why the change?

I was a bit shocked at how frail looking the King is and how he looks much older than his 75 years,he appeared to be very red in complection or maybe it was just the lighting?

You are right, An Ard Ri. He does look frail, and that probably is the reason why they opted for the Royal Family to sit down during the speeches in Palacio Real, as opposed to the last year. It would have probably looked worse, if the the King were the only person who was sitting down.

Edit: Sorry apparently he is still using his crutches.

I really hope His Majesty is ok.The Royal Family have always stood on dais infront of the thrones, this year given the King's mobility they sat on chairs infront of the dais.Looking at the frail King and youthful looking Queen its hard to imagine that's there's only a few months between them!

I have a question regarding the uniforms of the PFelipe and the King: Why is Felipe wearing gloves and the King none?
