What an amazing thread this is, wonderful pictures - thank you kokeno for posting them.
I was in Thailand not long ago, I found the Thai people very friendly. They are very loyal to their Royal Family.

Even at her current age she still looks as one of the most beautiful and elegant Queens of the 20th century. I saw a profile on her on National geographic some time ago and it was about her husband, the King, fascination with taking photos of her. They are also one of the great loves stories we hardly heard about.

Thanks kokeno for this fantastic thread - it is so nice to hear about other monarchies apart from the more well known ones. Stunning photos, eye popping jewels and a lovely, smiling, friendly queen with masses of dignity. Absolutely wonderful, thank you.

I think the only thing more beautiful then Queen Sirikit's jewels is her smile. She looks like such a sweet, approachable woman!
That said, I really want that diamond floral tiara.

Dazzling jewels! Now that is how a queen SHOULD wear jewels. I bet there is no dust on their jewels!

I can remember the State Visit to Queensland in the 60's. Queen Sirikit was a most elegant and beautiful woman. She won the hearts of those who saw her. She measured right up there with Jackie Kennedy and QEII and Grace Kelly.
I have a short story that was published , about a beauty competition of the day, with 6 beautiful women, the 3 , I have mentioned plus Fabiola of Belgium, and I cannot think of the 6th. It was an intrigueing little tale.

Sirindhorn is a Princess, not Crown Princess.
Thailand only has a Crown Prince (her brother) who's wife does not even bear the title of Crown Princess.

I'm sorry, but you are wrong, Madame Royale.
