Princesa Haya Bint Al Hussein: "Uso de velo islámico es una elección personal"
Detalle noticia=

During the summer she is abroad. Past few summers she has been attending different horse events & visiting a few hospitals for the new AlJalila hospital.
Many families escape the summer heat so it is perfectly understandable that she isn't in Dubai. The elections are coming up in just a few months as well.
I know that manies families in gulf escape from their contries to spend the summer abroad becaue of the weather but I didn't know Dubai is one of those hot cities:)
thanks anyway Dazzling.

Haya's millions help FEI into new headquarters

...There has been little fanfare surrounding the princess's generosity. A small note on page 53 in the financial statement of the FEI's 2008 annual report noted the donations.

The note said that the funds would be manged through the "Fund for Building Renovation" created on the balance sheet. It said the building was recorded in the FEI's assets at the value of one Swiss franc at that stage...

Probably because it is seen as controversial. She is after all an elected official and normally there are rules on donations and holding official office.

And she does have a sense of humor

From the article above
She is not above playing practical jokes either. Princess Haya recalled the time a few years ago when Sebastian Coe, the chairman of the London Organizing Committee for the Olympics, showed her around Greenwich Park, where the equestrian stadium will be for the 2012 Games. When the need for additional seating came up, Princess Haya pointed toward the Queen’s House, a London treasure.

“Can’t we just knock it down?” she recalled telling Coe.

“You could see him thinking: ‘Arab princess. Is she serious? Are we going to have a problem?’ ” She gave a sly smile, saying, “Very funny.”
