Princess Beatrix as Patron was present at the fourth edition of the Het Oranjepad charity walk of the Princess Beatrix Muscle Fund this afternoon, October 7:

The Princess is visiting both Curacao and Aruba. Her agenda (in Dutch) is mostly focused on the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (the main purpose of the visit - she is their patron and visiting the final day of their conference) and several social-societal initiatives on the two islands (as an add-on).

I love seeing Princess Beatrix in action. She is such a perfect blend of business'-like duty with a genuine deep warmth.

God bless W-A for providing his mother with an agenda that keeps her active and happy. She's in great form. Love seeing her having fun.

Not sure if it is Willem-Alexander providing her with an agenda - I am pretty sure she is managing that herself. The former queen wanted her son to become king in the prime of his life (just like her mother did for her), which happened at a time she was still fully capable of carrying out engagements. So, of course she continued -albeit on a smaller scale than when queen- to carry out some of them; especially activities related to her patronages, such as this one! Nonetheless, it is wonderful to see her enjoying her engagements in the Caribbean part of the kingdom.

This evening, November 13, Princess Beatrix attended the 25th edition of the Dutch Ballet Gala Dancers Fund 79 at the DeLaMar theater in Amsterdam:

Princess Beatrix received the first Kingdom calendar at Noordeinde Palace today, December 15. It's a birthday calendar that was made by students of the Den Haag University of Applied Sciences and contains photos from the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA), Princess Beatrix is Patron of:

She will be officially known as Queen Beatrix again after her death. There is no rule that she cannot keep the title, however, her grandmother queen Wilhelmina decided to revert back to being a princess upon her abdication and her daughter and granddaughter followed suit.

There is no rule that she cannot keep the title, however, her grandmother queen Wilhelmina decided to revert back to being a princess upon her abdication and her daughter and granddaughter followed suit.

Duc_et_Pair explained that the Explanatory Memorandum attached to the Royal House Act 2002 implied that future abdicated monarchs would revert to Prince (Princess) of the Netherlands:

The Explanatory Memorandum and the Advice of the Council of State are always attached to a Bill. In the Memorandum can be read that the practice as developed since 1900 needed codification in the legislation.

In the Memorandum is explained that the King can not be Prince (Princess) of the Netherlands. The two titles bite each other. When in the Act is stated that the presumed successor of the King, as well the King who has abdicated the kingship bear the title Prince (Princess) of the Netherlands, then this is clear.

Add to this the examples set by three consecutive predecessors of the current King, then King Willem-Alexander will revert to the style he had before being the King or the Heir. Like his mother Beatrix, his grandmother Juliana and his great-grandmother Wilhelmina: they form "the existing practice which needs codification in the legislation".

Adorable. Like to see her out and about.

I like to see her with her niece and goddaughter too. A far cry from all the drama of the early 2000s. Pss Margarita looks better than ever.

Yesterday evening, January 29, Princess Beatrix as Patron attended the annual inter-religious symposium of the network "In Freedom Connected" in Utrecht. This year's theme was "Looking after each other in times of polarization":

So lovely to see her enjoy events like this. She is a great example of graciously growing older (and supporting the younger generation).
