Jacqueline, the jewels of Iran are gorgeous. I do not hesitate to say that they are among my favorites. Thank you for the site link! :)

You're welcome Julia!
The first time that I found the site, I must have gotten lost in reading about the jewels and the coronation for about an hour.

This is a new site about royal and aristocratic jewels listed on Brigitte's site.
It looks like it's going to grow into a wonderful site!

Hehe, it's seems that it has not yet fully finished. But it sure is going to become another nice site for us picky jewellery-lovers.

This is a great site that has pics of Princess Soraya of Iran's jewels that were put up for auction in May 2002. You need to register at the site.

This website shows some world-famous pieces of diamond.
But it also features a great Bavarian diamond and sapphire brooch once belonged to the Wittelsbach. Infact it's called "The Wittelsbach"!! Enjoy!

Hi florawindsor
I read elsewhere that "Jewels of the World" has been shut down by the host site owner. And as someone else on these Boards has pointed out the era of "free" access on the Internet is coming to an end. Copyright holders are starting to clamp down on the use of their photos, even on specialist sites who only appeal to a relatively small number of people. As a result, some pics have to be removed to avoid the threat of legal action.

Danjel gave a brief explanation on another Board. As the Photo Agencies declined to give him permission to host their tiara pics, he was told to remove them and had no choice but to do so. The Royal Jewels of the World site suffered the same fate. I don't know why they targeted these sites, but they did, and we are the poorer for it.

That's really sad. Can't believe these copyright people. They should be concentrating on what is really costing them - pirate DVDs, movie...music downloads. Not pics of tiaras which will not generate much profit for them anyway!
