I am not sure if this has been posted in this thread before, but Ipsos' website has polling figures on the monarchy versus republic debate in the UK going back to 1993.

Another interesting finding from Ipsos: Support for "modernising" the British monarchy was substantially higher two decades ago than it is now.

The poll results appear to indicate that people have noticed how the monarchy has modernised itself in the last two decades but there's still a significant desire to see more modernisation so the BRF mustn't stagnate (I don't think it will).
