It can be avoided to wear the breast star on the sash itself.

Queen Letizia can regularly seen wearing the star on the sash itself:

Strange that Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien were not included in the official photo. I miss the old setting of taking a picture in an antichambre. Now the pictures are made just before the passage of the guests.

The president and his wife will stay in Dam palace, which has a large collection of Empire-style furniture, dating from the time of Louis Napoleon, King of Holland.

Is it the first time that the state banquet is filmed? I can not remember it happening before. Very nice. I don't remember getting to see the national anthems played during the banquet.

Yes, Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien both attended. It seems they were awarded the Grand Officer of the Legion d'Honneur, same as Joachim and Marie were at the Danish State Visit.

He does indeed.
He has always been my favourite of the three princes.
I am sure he and Laurentien enjoyed the gathering.

The last one is a bit a strange mix of gentlemen wearing black tie, Madame Chirac properly using a small Order but the two royal ladies wearing full Orders. Madame Brigitte Macron-Trogneux chose to wear neither the bâton nor the riband and breast star. Of course one is never obliged to wear Orders, it is always an option, but somehow it remains strange.

If they were awarded french Orders they choose not to wear them at the State Banquet as there they wore their dutch Orders.

For some reason she choose not to wear Orders. She was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Dannebrog for thd state visit to Denmark, but didn't wear that one for the state banquet ag Christiansborg Palace either.

They wore borh. They weren't given a grand cross but a lower grade, so you can see them wearing both their grand cross of their Dutch order as well as a smaller French order (Constantijn on his left and Laurentien on her right (on top of her riband).
 
When travelling with the King, the President uses one of the royal limousines (an armoured extended Cadillac instead of one of the usual armoured and extended Audi limousines). The President used his own Renault in Amsterdam.

At the University the security managed to tackle a man and a woman storming towards the President, shouting slogans. As known the President is quite under fire for unpopular pension reforms but luckily no cake was thrown into the face or something worse.

Due to the Situation in France , and specially on next Thursday, what is the importance to do a State Visit in the Netherlands for 2 days , wearing a Dutch Sash he have to give back if non elected.

The French only want to intensivate the interests of the French state and of the French economy. For an example the headquarters of the mother holding of Peugeot/Citroën/DS/Opel/Fiat is in Amsterdam, both France and the Netherlands are major stakeholders in Air France-KLM, one of the world's larhest airline companies. The Royal Netherlands Navy wants to purchase 4 sous-marines from Naval Group France. The Netherlands are the 4th largest foreign investor into France with 108 milliard Euro of annual investments.

Always a good idea to keep the ties warm. Especially now -since Brexit- France can use partners to balance the shifting powers to the East (Germany, Austria, Poland, Baltic States). And when "La Haye" is into the French camp, usually the other two Benelux countries are too.

Interesting to see that the display of flags at the University of Amsterdam. Behind the president there is the French flag ánd the European one. Behind the King there is only a Dutch flag, as usually is the case for the prime minister too.

The Queen must have visited the Anne Frank house quite a few times already. The last time (in public) being with the Argentine president Macri and his wife.

They did wear them. As you can see in the photo of Princess Laurentien, she wore the order (red) on her sash of the House of Orange. Prince Constantijn wore his on the opposite shoulder.

Mrs. Macron did not wore Orders in Belgium and Denmark, I believe that she doesn't like to wear Orders
 
The President and the King will have a diner together with the two Government delegations in the Rijksmuseum. The Première Dame and Queen Máxima will enjoy a diner aboard of an antique sightseeing boat, enjoying food while illuminated Amsterdam glides by.
 
It seems that tonight the king and queen are wearing the pin of the legion d'honneur. The president may be wearing the Dutch one, though it seems Mrs. Macron is not wearing hers, as others explained she never does.

According to the director of the museum, the president and the King were very interested and took a lot of pictures during the private tour of the exhibition. The president paid special attention to the milkmaid, which is also well known in France. And also Vermeer's Lacemaker received special attention. the painting has been lent out by the Louvre.

It is a bit different: the French President was the target as a woman and man stormed on him, shouting slogans (in French). The King -at that moment- stepped out of the same limousine, from the other side. As known, the French President is under fire for enforcing a higher age of retirement in France.

From 1648 until 1808 (160 years) it was a city hall. From 1808 on (now 215 years) it is in use as a royal palace.

For myself this 375 year old building has an imposing grandeur, due to the storeys high space and (through the whole immense building) using unimagineable amounts of Carrara marble but indeed it 100% meant to impose and not meant to live with a family.
