Prince Joachim of Denmark and Marie Cavallier: May 24, 2008

Thank you for all of the lovely Photos!

I loved seeing all the photos of the wedding, guests, and royalty. Although Marie's gown was nothing new, it was beautifully made. The Chantilly lace was lovely framed close to her neckline, and the veil was stunning with it adorned with the lace. The view of her inside the church with the royal train behind her with the veil was enchanting. The color of the silk bridal gown was very flattering to her. The joy of the couple was evident. I wish them much happiness. Truly, the sun was shining on them today.:flowers:

Congratulations to them. Marie is so beautiful. She truly looks like a princess. Carina's dress is so soft and lovely.

Beautiful wedding! Marie's gown was incredibly beautiful, I loved the veil. It looked like Mary's. Congratulations to the couple and the whole family!!!

Loved Marie's wedding dress. It managed to look sexy and appropriate at the same time. I've always thought that royals' wedding dresses always seem stiff and not at all romantic-looking. But this dress is surprisingly delicate and feminine, which is good for Marie's petite frame. Still, though, my characters of the wedding are the best men. The boys are so, so adorable.

So now the wedding's over. What's next? Some baby news! :D

A beautiful wedding. One thing, she does not have the pressure to produce an heir in 9 months time. She can ease into her role and learn danish. Will she get any orders soon?

STUNNING. That was one of the most beautiful wedding dresses I have seen.

All the ladies look lovely. I teared up myself when Joachim hugged the boys and started to cry. And how cute was it when Felix fell asleep?
Philippos is very handsome! Definitely looks like a cross between Pavlos and Nikolaos!

As an aside, I'd first like to add that this is one of the most enjoyable experiences which I have on the Forums. With so many of us participants excited and/or interested in this wedding it's been a pleasure to read everyone's responses to this very happy event, a true enhancement of the sense of goodwill which many obviously feel towards the newlyweds.

I thought that Princess Marie looked quite magical and was exquisitely gowned. I was pleased to see Joachim so loving and emotionally overwhelmed, and yes, it's o.k. for a man to shed a tear or two. Most of the attention is, appropriately, on the beautiful bride, but I thought Joachim looked simply elegant, as well.

The Queen, as always, looked beautiful to me - I do so love her fashion independence and her courage to embellish her own particular sense of style. (I recall how spectacular I thought that she looked at Mary and Frederik's wedding. She and Letizia wore the the two knock-out gowns of that occasion.)

And although I'm loath to contradict the well-known fashionista, Madame Royale, (whose opinion I eagerly seek out on these boards on all matters sartorial, especially) I thought that CP Mary's dress was quite wonderful. I think that I've noted before that CP Mary is one of the few women in the world whose contemporary wardrobe is often in the vanguard of fashion. From what I recall from the recently concluded Fashion Weeks around the world, frills, furbelows and flounces will be on everything before too long.

I wish Joachim and Marie good fortune and good luck. They are a strikingly handsome couple and from the one interview I've seen with them, they are also caring, intelligent, and extremely pleasant people. May today be the first of many memorable ones for them.

Finally, many thanks to the Moderators here who worked so assiduously to keep us informed and to help those of us out who had trouble with internet links. I truly appreciated and benefitted from their efforts.

..
Moving on, the entire wedding was simply beautiful and very romantic. Marie looked sweet. I loved Mary's gown... she looked ravishing. It was lovely to see Victoria, Natalie, Mette Marit, Carina, and the Greek girls. Though I will say Princess Benedikte looked fantastic. I love her tiara.
Agree on Mary, she looked <the> best in my opinion! And speaking about Benedikte, has anyone noticed how Carina seems to very much resemble her, facially? Or is it just me?

Good to see Roger Moore too, he must be a friend of the family!

What's up all? Hope y'all enjoyed the wedding!

Had a good look at the wedding pictures from different sources.

IMO, Princess Marie should be recognized as one of the best looking royal bride from now on - marvelous dress and exquisite tiara (looks perfect on her).

To be honest, Princess Mary remains best dressed of the event.

Carina looks good with her tiara, except she could have done her hair up?

Granted I can't speak for others, but my two cents is that Joachim is the spitting image of his mother, physically not only, but mentally as well. Which means to say he is someone who is mentally visionary, intellectual, and creative, the last part in Joachim's case embodied in his vision for, and work on, his farm and agriculture. Creativity comes in many forms, and Joachim has it in spades.

Yes he looks good, but moreover he is very very eloquent and articulate in a way his older bro cannot even dream of ever achieving. Just from Joachim's interview with Marie, he had these explanations and theories on how to introduce his sons to his new love and incorporate the two into one entity that would make everyone happy. And explaining it as he did, he showed a keen ability to abstract thinking and vision that his brother either doesn't have or can't articulate well to the media.

Joachim seems to be a deep thinker as well as a creative doer and that combo of talents would work well in any white collar profession not least the role of CP.
I agree with your opinion princess olga, I couldn't have said it better than you :flowers:

Very nicely said! :flowers:

Yes, Joachim stopped her. At least that was my impression too.

They explained in German Tv that she did not yet have her bouquet, so he stopped her and they waited tll the bridesmaid had fetched it and given it to Marie.

As for the other women, Martha-Louise looked as if she was wearing a sack, the colour was nice, but the design did absolutely nothing for her shape.

For someone who is pregnant I think she looked gorgeous!!!!!!:ermm:

Thank you for posting this.

Sorry to say this, but I am a sort of disappointed from the official portraits. They look quite boring to me. With that open door behind them and the way the bride, bridegroom and their parents are positioned it more looks like a photo that has been taken spontaneously. Also the official photos of Marie - who looked so beautiful during the wedding - are not very nice.

Are there any other official photos released?

Oh wow, I actually love the one of Marie, she looks amazing in it, also the one of the couple together kissing is lovely! I have to agree with Naggi though on the group picture, they really should have closed that door, it looks strange this way. But the pictures are lovely!!!!

forgot to mention... :)
I know what is mostly annoying me on the official group photo.. I am missing the beautiful trail and veil of Marie's dress.

What's the nice wedding. Marie was beautiful. I loved her hairdo, veil, earrings and tiara. The top of her dress was very nice but I am not sure about thee skirt, it was to puffy for her petite body. After all Marie looked lovely, very feminine. :flowers:Joachim looked handsome in his uniform.
I like seeing him so emotional with boys and when he saw his lovely bride. Both boys are uber cute. Little Felix falling asleep at church was priceless.

I am disappointed with CP Mary's dress. Color was OK, but style:ermm:. Those ruffles, I know many before me criticized them, and rightfully so. This dress made Mary looking matronly and I disliked her tiara.
Victoria was stunning in her red dress but I hated that "jeep-tiara".

And one more. Prince Gustav girlfriend Carina although pretty shouldn't wear tiara. I am traditionalist maybe, but she should be wife first.

Ladies, forgive my ignorance, but who is Carina? In what way is she related to the royals as I have understood she is not a royal herself.

that was my first thought when I saw the picture as well Naggi, and also I forgot to mention it! It's really too bad the photographer didn't see that because the picture would have been prettier with the trail and veil being visible!

Oh, one thing about Marie. She had one of the worst moments any bride could have during her wedding, when wind almost took her veil. I was so sorry for her, but she managed that gracefully.:) I only hope that silly media will not show over and over this pic with her mouth open in surprise when wind was taking her veil.

Me too! That's why I said Joachim should haven been the first-born. Also, looking at all the pictures, I like Marie's dress more and more, and she is very pretty. Joachim second son is a cutie.

i guess little christian and isabella did not attend the wedding

I think she looks more and more like her sister, the older one.

How wonderful to have all these photos so quickly! Thank you to everyone who posted them. :flowers: It must have been great fun to watch the wedding live on the internet as some of you could.

I think Marie's dress was lovely. Queen Margrethe looked particularly good, too. Prince Henrik must have been happy to have so many people to speak French with.:)
