Having a passion for fashion i'm always looking at the latest collection of Couture gowns/dresses and i thought it would be great to start a thread where we can posts pictures of gowns that would look great on a princess. :)

I think gowns look best on Crown Princess Mary and Queen Rania, they're not too tall or too short or too chubby, they do have their fashion faux pas but to me they've nearly always managed to look great in the gowns they wear. :)

could some tell me if the links work please? i'm not sure if they will work for others apart from myself.... =] thanks in advance.

For bold, daring princesses ^___^

Frank Sorbier - the only dress from the Haute Couture Fall 2005 collection that didn't look to eccentric or weird for a princess lol

Great topic! The links work just fine...I like the 5th dress that you said was your favorite along with 11, I just thought it was unique. Numbers 12 and 13 were beautifull colors. We all know Maria Teresa is a big fan of Saab, does Queen Rania wear this designers dresses as well? I think they would look like on her. Also, can anyone tell me what royals like to wear Gaultier? ... I really don't care for the Fall 2005 collection but thats just my taste:)

Here are 3 bigger photos of gowns from Ellie Saab´s Fall/winter collection 2005/2006:

I prefer simplistic and minimalistic A-line shaped gowns. Therefore, I am posting the ones I like as well as what I think might look good on the princesses.

1. Vera Wang (work well for Mary)
2. Oscar de la Renta (for Mette Marit)
3. Ellie Saab (Rania can really carry off this gown)
4. Emanuel Ungaro (look wonderful on Letizia)

great choices, the Elie Saab dress is so beautiful and it would definitely look great on Rania :) i can't really see Letizia in that gown though...these aren't gowns but i imagine Letizia would look fabulous in them:

Great pictures of Cate Blanchett! I think the third picture of Cate in the coral and black gown is spectacular! I could definitely see Mary or Maxima in something like that. (Maybe more Maxima since it's such a vibrant colour and the design has such potential to be dramatic with a touch of the theatrical.)

btw, how do we post links as those little images??? =)

You use Imageshack and upload your image and then the one you would use is "Thumbnails for Forums 1". And then the photo appears for you in the post.

Thank you. I´m glad that you like them. Yes, that was my favorite too. Spot on about Maxima. She certainly is the Queen of color.

Here are 3 dresses from the Fall 2005 Carolina Herrera Runway:

2. This dress has a nice color and lovely material...I'm not sure who I'd like to see it on...Rania? Mathilde? Letizia?

Great photos princessvalondra. Thanks for the links. I absolutely love Monique Lhuillier's designs, so I'm glad you posted them. The green dress (the first one) is stunning. Actually, all the dresses you've posted are. Sigh. If only I had a wallet and a wardrobe big enough.

Glad you liked the pictures, I had fun going through the runway pictures to find them, so many interesting outfits lol ...I wish I could afford a wardrobe like that too ... I do love Monique Lhuillier's work...The first dress of hers I remember being caught by was worn by Jamie Lynn DiScala...Sorry this image is so small, up close the design around the neck is beautiful…I never really knew though what it is made of, does anyone know if it is made of crystals or possibly gems? :)

ps- I think this dress would go well on Maxima or Mary lol

This has become a very interesting and fun thread!

Thanks to everyone who contributed such great gowns! :) Keep it up! Lots of great suggestions. There should be a special prize if one of the princesses ends up wearing one of these suggested gowns!

(And thank you to everyone for complying with the attachment rule, too! ;) )

I personally would love to see some of carolina hererra on some of the princesses. I think her style of gowns are especially flattering on anybody. Also, Valentino make great gowns as was seen on the previous posts. Just a couple months ago, Oprah had a Valentino special on her show and it truely collected the best of all his collections and put it into the show. Dresses from his couture line 30 years ago would still be considered high fashion today. This thread is very entertaining! Let's hope to keep it up!
