Charlene was at the civil wedding (and possibly the wedding reception in the evening) which means there must be a simple reason why she wasnt at the cathedral!

This longer hairstyle really suits Charlène, she is very pretty.

Her absence at the cathedral dosn't seem so bad now as her attendance at the first service suggests there isn't any kind of rift in the family. She attended Andrea and Tatiana's civil wedding, Charlotte and Dimitri's civil wedding and Louis and Marie's civil wedding but never the religious one.

I think part of the problem was that the photos of the Religious Wedding Mass were released before those of the civil ceremony which took place the day before but they don't seem to do things by the book in Monaco

Possible but unlikely - she voluntarily converted to Catholicism and has been seen to be very devout, attending Mass and various feast days. She is reportedly very close to both Father Penzo and Monseigneur Barsi, the Archbishop.

As far as I know she is now Catholic and very religious. She frequently goes to the Palace's chapel and is very close to Fr. Penzo and even to Mon. Barsi

I don't think her not attending the religious wedding ceremony has something to do with her religious views. Even so, she is known to be very religious.

She might have a plausible reason.

I believe the palace needs to communicate better. Louis is a private citizen and all but there is public interest in him. Waiting 3 days to release pictures is a bad move. The backlash Princess Charlene has received over the past few days, and the incredible amount of speculations and rumours (some of them are justified) could all have been avoided had the palace released a statement, posted the photos earlier (I understand Point De Vue had exclusive rights and photos were probably embargoed), or even responded to press inquiries.

Charlene's relationship with her inlaws seems more than okay. Whatever agreements or family politics they all have between them seem to be working and they're all civil towards each other. Why not show that and prevent all the rumors and the nasty talk? I don't understand!


As for the religious wedding, it could be that she was planning to attend and had to cancel last minute resulting in Princess Caroline sitting next to Prince Albert. Why? Who knows. Or it could be that she just doesn't attend church weddings. Why? who knows!

I see a pattern, she only attends civil weddings.

Perhaps two busy events straight after each other are too overwhelming for her. I could imagine it.

I rather think religious weddings ask much of her, it can be too much for an introvert.
I suppose she attends what she can handle, as puzzling as that may seem to (some) people in the outside world.

The Princess converted to Catholicism and has been very public in her conversion,visits to the Vatican and attendance at RC Religious feasts in Monaco such as Corpus Christi and St Devote for example.

She's in the official picture taken at the Palace after the civil wedding ceremony so it would appear that she was at the reception. This picture is on the Palace's FB page.

That photo made my heart jump too. It's a breath of fresh air seeing Alexandre. Such a lovely boy. Indeed, this wedding has made me tremendously happy.
