wonderful! Queen Silvia looks stunning. Love the cut and color of the suit and I adore her hair styled this way. Since Estelle has arrived, I've not seen her look better!!! Being a grandmother has definitely agreed with her.
 
I would have prefered it without the glitter but she still looks good.

This is a dress that looks fabulous on a big personality and awful on a small personality. Silvia carries it alright, although I'm becoming very tired of matching shoes.

The dress is very dramatic, but it seems to almost overwhelm her. Perhaps if I were to see different views of her in it, I would feel differently. Stunning color but I wish she had broken it up a bit with a different color clutch?...
 
I don't like the design of this dress that much. The shoes are outdated. But the fuchsia clutch looks lovely!

I love the color clutch and shoes but I really dislike the dress. It looks like curtains!

I like the look, it's very elegant and sophisticated. I prefer it without the jacket though.
 
I prefer it without the jacket, as well. It looks too busy with the jacket, somehow. She still always manages to look smart!

I wish there would be a big full view photo, but I haven't found any yet. I love the colours of this outfit. Beautiful.
 
I like the top a lot. Very vintage and regal. But I dislike the huge black coat, it wasn't at all stylish, IMO.
 
Total black? She looks great, I just wish that coat had been a size smaller! ;)

She has been wearing a total black outfit to almost every Opening since 1976, there have been a few times she's had some white accents but not very often.
 
The black and white that the Queen and princesses wear is a modern take on the traditional court dress that the ladies stopped wearing in the 1973.

In fact, since 1984.
That was the first year in which the Opening of Parliament took place in its present form; before, it was even less formal, with less ceremony, no royal carriage ride and Queen Silvia wearing all kinds of day dresses.
1984 was also the year Silvia started the homage to the former back-and-white court dress mentioned above by NGalitzine.
Over the years, she has usually worn black with bold white accents and not all-black like this year.
I too wish the coat with its nicely sharp tailoring was a size smaller, by the way.

The coat is a little too big on her but, she still looks elegant. Love the pearls.

The suit is great, but te flashes from the cameras once again skew the look. This is when I wish I could see this stuff in person.

The black suit underneath the coat was perfection. Very elegant indeed!
I'm not too fond of the silk suit she wore in the evening though.
 
The color is nice but I don't like the outfit itself. Not a fan of the design.

Love both parliament suits and accompanying jewels. Esp love the rubies with the purple suit.
 
She looks absolutely flawless in the gown at the International Gala! Silvia is the personification of a regal Queen.
