Yes but be honest with yourself. No one else looks into the camera the way Sofia does. Everyone looks and smiles, but she looks with an air of "SEE ME!". That's why a lot of posters comment on her looking in the cameras all the time. Daniel, Emma, Jonas and even Chris never paid much attention to the press. If at an event, they simply smiled in the camera and moved on, but not Sofia. She reminds me of a little girl in desperate need of approval and attention.
Have you ever tought about this like being simply a side-effect of her job? Because I'm quiet sure you could look at the same building I look at and see and react to completely different things. Simply because of my studies in architecture. That is, if you're not an architect yourself.
Like it or not, but Sofia has jobwise been more of a public figure than Chris, Emma or Jonas ever were and cameras ad photographers are just normal to her. A tool to become better in her job and more known which would lead to better paychecks. She's way more outgoing than all of the other three, simply because it's helping her more with her job as a model, of which I'm admittingly not sure if she works in this job currently. But since we never see her everyday life she could do some work in the modeling world that doesn't put here into the big spotlight currently, even if she maybe is not modeling herself currently out of respect to Carl Philip and his status. We don't know it. Btw, her being open and outgoing also doesn't hurt in charity work to be open and outgoing and not shy and always on the run from people and/or cameras.
I don't say this is for sure, because what's really going on in her head I don't know. You could be right with her being a little egoistic attention seeker. But I'm not completely blind and ignorant to other possibilities of her every do's and don'ts. I try to see what else can be the reason and that's something a lot around here simply don't. Most often it is just "Oh! It's Sofia. She's looking! She's smiling! She's looking AND smiling! How dare she?" Because honestly, I don't see a lot of those sentences made here in her eyes. I see different things.
But then again, I also saw different things about what could have been going on in little Estelles head during the christning (see other thread). So all of this is simply a point of view here. Maybe she did search for the cameras in the stairs-pic. Maybe someone said something funny and she just perked up and got photographed in that exact moment. Maybe she is just a very aware person who simply doesn't tend to withdraw into herself or look elsewhere when being nervous because of a big event in her life. Some people to live with the german motto "Angriff ist die beste Verteidigung" which would be "Attack is the best defense" but I don't know if this german saying is known in te rest of the world. Her smiling like that could very well be proudness over being there (who can really honestly blame her for that?) mixed with nervousness over being at something this big and historic (which it definitely was and no one can be blamed for being nervous if one isn't used to things like this) and the fear of being caught as inwardly nervous. Or maybe she was just looking if she could spot her boyfriend somewhere down there. And heaven knows I would have a radiant smile on my face too, if I see my husband as a proud godfather of his cute-to-die-for little niece. Only Sofia knows what was really going on in her head in this special pic and in all the others before.
I pray that day will never come! Now you've made my blood boil!
It seems like we're both hot-tempered persons and one of us has always her blood boiling after a few comments of the other. But even if it sounds strange now and you maybe may not believe me: Somehow I really like you, even if we're not on the same page when it comes to Sofia.
She smiles a lot, and doesn't ever appear surly or angry at photographers. That's not a bad thing, if she is indeed going to marry Prince Carl Philip.
I feel like this is a pretty great example of people choosing to read what they want to see into photographs. I don't really love Sofia, nor do I dislike her, but I feel like having to constantly say "Hey, that thing she did really wasn't a big deal" is making me sound like a raving fangirl by default.
I'm on the completely same page with you here, HRHHermione.
