HM the King, HM the Queen, HM the Fourth Druk Gyalpo,and other members of the Royal Family graced the first ever Dochula Druk Wangyal Festival.
The festival is a tribute to the wise leadership of the Wangchuck Dynasty. Thousands of people faced the freezing weather to witness the colorful never before seen performances; the dances were mainly performed by the soldiers of the Royal Bhutan Army.
The festival will be held twice a year beginning from 2012.

I note that it says a monarch must be born to a natural born Bhutanese, so monarchs cannot marry a foreigner or else their children could not succeed to the throne.The New constitution of Bhutan requires the King to retire at the age of 65. - Source
