Royals wearing traditional dress(es) of other countries

Post pictures of Royals wearing traditional dress(es) of other countries here!

Victoria's suit from finnish Andiata yesterday was beautiful.

Today Victoria wears her kolt, traditional Sami outit, at the inauguration of Sametinget's eighth term.

Crown Princess Victoria's gapta (gapta is Sami and kolt is Swedish) is of the kind worn by the Southern Sami. It was made for her visit to the inauguration of the Sami Parliament in 2009 by artist Lena Persson. The shoelaces were made by Wanda Dahlsten and the silver details were made by silversmith Randi Marainen.
What differs the Southern Sami gapta from those of the more Northern Sami groups is the longer skirt, the beaded collar and the V-shaped neckline. The look of the gapta also differs between different families and because of personal choices and changing trends of fashion.
The Sami in general are both happy and honoured that Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria wear the gapta and for the Southern Sami especially it means much since the group's language and culture is highly endangered. According to Lena Persson some people cried the first time they saw Victoria wear her gapta.

It was really nice to see the Crown Princess wearing the traditional Sami outit today.

Does Daniel have some Sami ties or were they just general Finnish ones? Or am I totally mistaken.

Prince Daniel has Forest Finnish ancestry through his father, but is besides that generally of Swedish descent. Having Forest Finnish ancestry is not uncommon in the part of Sweden where his family is from since most of them started assimilating into the general population during the 19th century.
