In all of these pictures I could not help but ask myself..."What happend?"...
Especially in picture #2! Could it look worse because of the lighting? Because her face looks so much darker than the rest of her! Or maybe too much bronzer on the face?? Maria-Theresa has such a lovely natural skin color, why does she want to tan like that? It's also so harmfull! It brings on premature aging and can cause skin cancer...

Mathilde also needs to find the right sort of bronzer for her skin tone. She is fair skinned so she should not go so dark all of a sudden and only on her face...

But you cant always throw it on lightening  something you just cant hide.
And queen Rania (she one of my most favorite royals) did (and she does) some mistakes with make up- especially with "eye effects"

I mentioned the light affecting Mary on that picture because her face seemed to shine....alot! Perhaps I'm wrong!

Queen rania. Too much eyeshadow. Not sutiable for daytime even though it was an official visit to spain. from seegerpress

I have realized that queen Rania's problem is that she uses alot of blush.

god, what happened to kalina and even the dress with the bra part, eish!

I think Kalina didn't make a makeup mistake, she was being provocative by her clothes and makeup as she did always.

I cant blame them, they cant be perfect all the time. They might like it, we might not. we might think its too much, they might think they need alittle more. also, as royals, they might get ready an hour or so before the event, make-up changes after the application of it in a few minutes/hours. so it might not look like that before they leave the house.

what about Mathilde on national day... she had the brown foundation, too thick and too brown, and very heavy make-up on lips and eyes. Not my favorite mathilde look!

I liked her make-up. Dont think it is heavy at all. Btw, I think she and Letizia are the only royals who always get it right

eyeshadow had to be blended in to give a softer look imo. from getty images

This make up is very Ranja-like! I have to say I like it!:flowers:

I like it too! It matched her outfit. What little we could see anyway.

About Rania's make up, I think It is very Rania, she has found her own style I think it will be difficult for me to recognise her stright-away without it;) .

I think Lalla Salma's wedding make-up was terrifying! It was far too heavy and garish, the foundation didn't match her skintone and the dark colours did nothing for her.

Are you sure it is not because of a traditional way of Maroccan bride make up. I know in some country they have a traditional way to make up the bride, I speak about the style and the ingredient they use in traditional make up.
For style, Japanese bride traditional make up has very white foundation (no mater the bride skin colour is not as pale as the foundation'), very red lipstick and they applied a very black eyeliners and eyebrows, but that is the tradittional way:) .

I liked Rania's smoky eyed look at the Time gala as well.

Perhaps it is, I honestly couldn't tell you. One of the Moroccan members may have a better idea?
However I've seen photos of Lalla Hasna as a bride and she didn't have the same "white" foundation as Lalla Salma. Morever I've seen Salma with incredibly plae make-up even after the wedding.

yes little_star her make-up wasn't nice but I don't think that it's not so terrifying.other think I want to correct to you it's not her wedding :http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207344&d=1130601019
but her Engagement, that is he wedding:http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=207343&d=1130600880 (the make-up was better than the first).
to Answer galuhcandrakirana there is no traditional way of Maroccan bride make-up mybye for dress but not make-up.

Salma is not white because she puts white foundation, but because she is very pale person, and natural redhair, but maybe more blush would give her some tan.

I agree with you ZZZ,Rania most the time put a lot of eyshadows and blush for day time, that you can't see a differnce with a makeup for galas or evening time.

Thanks for clearing that up, I've always seen those photos described as her wedding pictures, I hadn't realised it was actually the engagement. She does look better in the 2nd set, but only marginally so.

I understand Salma is pale ( I didn't suggest otherwise) however I do think she wears make-up that emphasises and enhances this, which in the end actually does little for her.

I was replying to suggession about if she put white foundation as a tradition like in Japan even if somebody is not pale, but this not Salma's case as she's very pale, and put the same white foundation like her complexion, but I do think that some blush would be better, but she seems not liking to put a lot of blush.

Depending on how well the photos were developed, sometimes the subject may have really good makegood but come across looking bizzard. The picture of Salma at her engagement looks to be heavy on the blue hue overall. She looked positively sickly.

What freaks me out are her eyebrows: just look at the left side, it was tweezed half way across her eye. EEEH!

hahahahaha....that's hilarious. :ROFLMAO:

Oh la la It is so 80s! The shiny puffy dress and the pervenche eye shadow... but even for the 80s, that was a bit loud.
