I've been skimming through one of my favorite and yet terrible (bad for my wallet ) webites, NetAPorter.com, and I found a fantastic dress from Miu Miu. This would look great on Mary. It's similar to the Valentino resort collection, but much much cheaper.

I love the dress! The cut and length would look great on Mary. She has such great style that she could make a mediocre dress look fab.

There are actually a few items that I would like see one her. This may be a stretch for her, but she needs to step out of the safety zone and start taking chances with her clothing:

Jovovich-Hawk

Jovovich-Hawk

cute

Temperley (I want this dress! )

Pucci

Azzaro

Antik Batik

I think that Mary would look pretty nice in the Temperley and Pucci tunics but either at a longer length or paired as is with jeans. I can see her in the 1st dress by Jovovich-Hawk but the cut of the 2nd one I just can't picture it.

The last two dresses are too daring I think. Thanks for sharing.

Oooh, I love the Antik Batik dress! It's gorgeous, great choice GT! However I do not like the Jovovich-Hawk dresses, too hippy-ish for my liking.

Personally, I would love to see Mary in some more bright, bold patterns (think the purple Hugo Boss dress she wore in London)

Can someone point me in the direction of this dress? I don't believe I've seen it. Thanks.

Could this be it? I'm not sure though - it's at an art exhibition reception in London:

Thanks Rose! I don't believe I've seen this dress before. Very bold but nice and it suits her. I don't think that she would make a serious err with her fashion choices. She can definitely afford to be a little bolder and I'm sure we would be awed! Love her hair off face.

This dress is nice:
Alexander McQueen Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear Collection Slideshow on Style.com
(You have to try and ignore the painted gold skin and garish runway hair/makeup - but with her dark hair done up it would look great!)

I like this dress as a more daytime dress (probably for winter though):
Alberta Ferretti Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear Collection Slideshow on Style.com
They show it in a magenta as well - it would look fantastic with a large, bold necklace, it's something that CP mary can carry off well.

She could carry something like this well too:
Badgley Mischka Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear Collection Slideshow on Style.com
I think she looks fab in bolde colours

This looks good - kinda like the Ferreti one:
Bottega Veneta Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear Collection Slideshow on Style.com
and I love the top of this one
Bottega Veneta Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear Collection Slideshow on Style.com
I adore the colour of this one

Cameron Diaz recently wore that beautiful gold fitted gown by Alexander McQueen at the Shrek 3 premiere in Tokyo.

Don't like the cardigan with it. I think the dress would look good belted. That's a serious looking dress so Mary's hair should at least be worn down and curled or done in a nice bun. The ponytail says carefree but the dress doesn't so the look conflicts. JMO.

But I do like the dress.

She could also wear her hair down with it for something slightly more relaxed - but i agree the pony tail is a bit too casual.

I was just thinking she would look great in the giorgio armani stuff too.

Rose1991,
Overall, I do like Armani but I have to admit that I don't keep up with the expensive fasion houses anymore since I can't afford them. I can't exactly see Mary at two of my favs either, JCrew or Banana Republic.

I really like her hair off her face like she had it with the bold purple print dress you posted.
