Thai Royal Household announced Queen Sirikit has been admitted to Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok, from having a fever as well as the urinary tract infection. The Queen has been under observation by doctors.

Is it me or has princess Bajrakitiyabha kind of resurfaced in the reign of her father; previously I mainly remember her younger half-sister showing up once in a while (but that was probably more in the western media than in Thailand's official royal events).

Thai Royal Household released the latest announcement about the health of Queen Sirikit, who has been admitted at Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok. The treatment of the bladder inflammation has reached in a satisfied level. Without fever, she can sleep and eat well. There is also no urine infection found. The Queen Mother has hence been advised to reside back to her home in Chitralada Royal Villa in Dusit Palace today on 28 May

Can Thai royal titles be passed on through the female line? Are the children of a royal princess who marries someone not of equal birth inherit any royal or noble title? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Apparently today is another weird day in the modern history of Thai monarchy.

A grand audience where the King sat on a throne, giving speech to his subjects on the auspicious occasion of his birthday, was treated low-key, plus, not broadcast live on national televisions.

What's more surprising today is that there are new royal titles conferred upon member(s?) of the royal family:

1. Princess Bajrakitiyabha took up a "department" (Krom; กรม), a third class department (there are 5 classes), and styled as Somdet Phrachao Luk Thoe Chaofa Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debayavadi Krom Luang Rajasarinee Siriphatchara Mahawacharat Rachathida or Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debayavadi, the Princess Rajasarinee Siriphatchara (สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าพัชรกิติยาภา นเรนทิราเทพยวดี กรมหลวงราชสาริณีสิริพัชร มหาวัชรราชธิดา)

2. Khun Sineenart Wongsevajirabhakdi (สินีนาฏ วงศ์วชิราภักดิ์) elevated to Chao Khun Phra Sineenart Bhilas-Galyani or Royal Noble Consort Sineenart Bhilas-Galyani (เจ้าคุณพระสินีนาฏ พิลาสกัลยาณี) which means she is officially a royal concubine.
