Oh, not liking this at all. The green looks like it leans toward the "acid" end of the color spectrum, and I'm not finding the fabric or the construction at all flattering. Shiny fabric is hard to wear by anyone of any age, but it is absolutely unforgiving on an older figure--ask me how I know.

I think in this case Sarah was not flattered by the particular fabric that was chosen for the dress. The navy and pink dress she wore in May was made of a fabric that had a better hand, and therefore skimmed over her curves in a more becoming manner. The green fabric was thinner, slinkier, and had a tendency to wrinkle and cling in the wrong places. And, the truly unforgivable thing was that it showed perspiration under her arms, which the designer should be ashamed of not having foreseen and prevented.
. I absolutely agree with you 100%. I make a point of avoiding slinky flimsy material for just this reason.

I’ve noticed that Sarah has begun to wear high heels again after several years wearing the “butterfly” shoes.

Wow, the last three evening ensembles have been amazing although her arrival in Dubai was a little short for the country but not inappropriate per se.

I was amazed at her beautiful white and gold gown for the "Brilliant is Beautiful" charity dinner. White looks amazing on her and isn't really an easy colour to wear.

Her black and gold butterfly embroidered gown worn in Cologne was really flattering on her figure with a little bit of Sarah sass and a lot of "I'm not twenty anymore'.

Her black ensemble worn to the UNICEF Gala was very flattering and as a redhead, she is fortunate that she can really rock black and in this case, the gown was both elegant and flattering.

:previous: I like both pieces individually though am not sure if I'm liking them together on Sarah. She could've done a lot worse, though.

:previous: A very mismashed look from Sarah. I like the two pieces individually though not together.

A lovely smile from Sarah but so much black again. I would love her to experiment with a shorter hairstyle. I think it would do wonders for her.

Sarah looks nice though agree about the black. And the shoes are cute but not sure if they're right for such an event - and also for her age - I'd expect someone of Beatrice or Eugenie's age to wear them!

I've noticed that Sarah seldom wears heels these days. Eugenie's wedding was an exception. I know that the older I get the less I want to put on foot-stilts. My feet just don't like them and let me know quite loudly if I wear them anyway. I wonder if Sarah's feet are talking to her these days too. (We're just about the same age.) Or it could be a balance issue - I've got that going too.

Some time ago, I read that Sarah wears flats as much as she can because of reoccurring back pain issues. Of course I went and googled it but cannot find the article anywhere. However, the article was about a year ago. I know her flats do not go with everything she wears and are quirky but I do like some of them and they look comfortable. Sigh...my feet would like them.

:previous: This outfit from Sarah looks as if she's put on whatever was on top of the wardrobe. The colours clash and the scarf especially doesn't go.

Sarah, Duchess of York's Fashion and Style Part 2: September 2017 -

I do wish she would cut her hair. It used to be her crowning glory but these days it looks quite unflattering.

None of that is a good look for her.

:previous: Oh no, her hair would be a lot harder to manage but, I do wish she would put it up. Wearing your hair down and fly-away at eighteen is one thing, wearing it down at fifty is another.

I think Queen Margrethe is a perfect example of what to do with your hair when you are older. She, like Sarah, loves her hair long but knows that leaving your hair down and fly-away when at a formal event does not look like it did when she was eighteen.

Sarah's hair was glorious, curly and bright as a copper penny when she was young but, like my sister's, it has faded and become finer with age and since she has never been seen with her hair short I think cutting it would be very hard. I think Andrew loved her hair when they first met and that's it.
