Wedding date still unknown?
Yes, they will start planning in autumn. But I bet it will be June. One of these incredibly long and light Skandinavian mid-summer days.

According to Swedish tabloids, the royal court will announce Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist's wedding date by the end of this month

a date so soon?

I don't see why not. No harm in getting the date on calendars. It's ten months away.

Soon? The date for Victoria's and Daniel's wedding was told a month after the engagement, and for Madeleine's and Chris wedding two months after the engagement. If they tell the wedding date in the end of August, they tell it at the same time as Madeleine's. But we will have to wait and see.

I thought the planning would start in autumn? In my eyes the end of August is not autumn yet. Unless they meant planning from the date on.
Anyway, I'm very curious to what date it will be.

well I think that even if we will know the date nothing more is going to be revealed... And I think that this wedding will take place in June like Victoria and Madeleine's one...

1. Date?
Church?
Wedding Dress Designer?
Bridesmaids?
Glasscoach or Car?

Is it just the date that is revealed?

I think that they will announce at first only the date and church, like before Victoria's and Madeleine's weddings.
Victoria's wedding dress designer was announced when she walked as a bride to her wedding to the Stockholm Cathedral, Madeleine's was announced a day before the wedding.
The bridal attendants to Victoria's wedding were announced three days before the wedding, to Madeleine's wedding on the wedding day.
It was quite clear before the both weddings that they will use an open carriage, if it wasn't raining, and possibly a car if it would have rained. An official article about the carriage was put to the website during the wedding day on Victoria's wedding.

As Duke of Värmland he should probably best marry in Karlstad, the capital of Värmlands län.

But if they have only about 300 guests, the Karlstad Cathedral could be too big. If they really are interested in Gärdslösa church, it gives the impression that they are planning a rather small wedding.

The interior of this church is beautiful and would make for some wonderful wedding pictures. It does seem, however, a tad small.

I think Saturday, the 30th of May, is a strong contender. I think they will go for a large size church.

He is the only son of a reigning monarch, so I don't think he and Sofia will be wed in a small, but truly beautiful, church. The invited guests probably will not be any different than the daughters. As with all royal weddings, this will be C-P's wedding more than it will be Sofia's wedding.

The more I think about it, the more I hope Sofia pulls a Mette-Marit and wears something stunningly simple and beautiful that allows people to look past their preconceptions. Maybe by the same designer Victoria used?

Hmmm, I guess I am the only one but I hope she does not choose a Mette Marit type of dress. I still don't like that one, much too simple for a bride. Considering her past and probably type of personality (I don't know MM very well) I understand why she chose it but Sofia is a totally different type of girl. Victoria's dress was too simple for my taste as well, in that respect I liked Madeleine's better with the lace. And lace apparently divides people these days :ROFLMAO:.
My preference goes out to a dress like Vicky Andrén wore, as shown in post #117 by LadyFinn (http://bloggar.aftonbladet.se/hovbloggen/files/2013/09/Skarmavbild-2013-09-02-kl.-09.57.09.png).

But who knows, perhaps if Sofia does choose a dress à la MM's - maybe she will be the one who makes me like it :).

Having seen Mette Marit's wedding dress. Disliked it as soon as I saw it. Hope her dress is nothing like that. I wonder if Sofia will surprise us all? I expect she will either go for satin, or lace.

Last week's Expressen Extra promoted their article about the wedding
"That is how Sofia wants to get married - really
Extra's source: wants something different"
Nytt nummer av magasinet EXTRA | Om Expressen | Expressen

I haven't seen any articles in swedish, german or finnish press quoting this article, so I don't know what was written in it.

I doubt Sofia is going to get a dress like any other lady we've seen recently...she could go something vintage though and pull it off.

'Vintage' wedding dress? You mean a 30's type of gown aka Norman Hartnell/Jean Harlow?

Please not, no strapless gown. Especially not from a royal bride (or in this case a bride who marries into the royal family).

What is it with strapless gowns that appeals so much to people?

Not sure Skippy. They were completely played out at least a decade ago.

In any case a strapless bridal gown...for a Royal bride...in what will likely be a Cathedral wedding ceremony...would be kind of tacky.

I don't like strapless dresses either, but concerning the church, a coat or bolero would solve that problem.

Do you think Sofia will use hibiscus flowers in her bridal boquet? :thistle::thistle::thistle:

Once again we agree Lady Nimue!;)

Lauren Bush had one of the most beautiful celeb bridal gowns ever. My other two favorites are Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton....stunning.
