Day 1
Video - Crown Prince Frederik proud of Crown Princess Mary
VIDEO: Kronprins Frederik stolt af kronprinsesse Mary | BILLED-BLADET
A good video from BB with a very passionated Crown Princess Mary delightful talking and telling about the first day of the conference. She held the opening speech which has been praised for.
And especially one was extra excitced - an obviously proud Frederik - who tells about his wifes effort:
"Her opening speech is the super thorough worked and there is professional expertise behind. And of course I'm extremely proud of the delivery of it. It just can't be done much better."
The tenderness you can see in Frederik's eyes and voice when he talks about Mary says a lot.

DR portrait of Crown Princess Mary (in connection with being host for the Women Deliver Conference)
Kronprinsesse Mary - kvindeforkæmperen | Nyheder | DR
(DR1 will tomorrow evening send a new documentary: "Crown Princess Mary's mission")
We see Crown Princess Mary on conferences, on visits to the Danish shelters and many events in Denmark.
We see her at the rostrum of the UN and the International Women's Day in the middle of Copenhagen.
Crown Princess Mary has several key issues, but one of those closest to her heart, is the struggle for women's and girls' rights.
Through her foundation, Mary Foundation, she has focused on domestic violence which each year hits more than 33,000 Danish women.
Will be there without the press and cameras
Her latest trip abroad in April went to Burkina Faso and the Crown Princess is not only there to meet up with the press. She spends a lot of time talking with the women who are involved - one to one, without microphones and cameras shoved up in their faces.
- When I talk to the women, it is very important for me to be present and really listen to their stories, so I can be able to convey and communicate their stories to others who do not have the opportunity to get an insight into what it means to be a woman in a country plagued by poverty and inequality, said the Crown Princess to DR.
Will use her title to something useful
Although Crown Princess Mary think it's hard to see herself as a role model, she is happy to be able to use her title as Crown Princess to focus on women and girls' rights:
- It means a lot to me. It has been a long, exciting and challenging journey. And the more subtle it becomes, and the deeper I go down, the more I want to get involved and do what I can to be one of the voices and actors that really helps to make a difference and create a world where women and girls have equal opportunities and freedom to choose the life they want, said Crown Princess Mary on the journey to Burkina Faso.
The strong commitment of the major humanitarian issues such as women's and girls' rights are not out of thin air - even as a child Mary was very interested in justice.
- From childhood I always had a strong sense of justice, and there are a lot of injustices in this world, the Crown Princess explained to Berlingske.
The professionalism must be in order
For Crown Princess Mary it's the third Women Deliver conference she participates in. Her program is packed with events from early morning to late evening all four days.
And she don't show up to one single opening or a meeting without being thoroughly prepared, and she considers, therefore, that she don't have came sleeping to the many invitations and tasks.
- The professionalism must be in order to be invited to special events, speaking at conferences, be part of a task force and meet special people, for example. Otherwise, you get a different type of invitations, and I will not feel good to be in charge of anything unless I have a deep and broad knowledge of the issue, have Crown Princess Mary told Berlingske.
We conclude with a quote from the head of one of the Crown Princess protectorates, the UN Population Fund, Babatunde Osotimehin:
- The Crown Princess effort is very important. She is an excellent advocate, and what she does is that she spreads the message out to a larger audience and explains that this is an important agenda if we want to make the world a peaceful place. People listen to her - not just because she is the Crown Princess - but also because she is very committed.
