Summary of an article in BT http://www.bt.dk/royale/mary-det-er-tidligt-endnu
Mary: Det er for tidligt endnu - Mary: It's still to early.
Written by Karina Svensgaard.

Mary toured the exhibitions in the Bella Centre Thursday during CIFF week.
And here her eyes spotted a pair of baby sandals, complety surprising a shoe designer, because Mary was not supposed to stop at her stand. Mary exclaimed: "Oh, they are lovely"! The delighted and blushing designer/sales rep was somewhat flabbergasted and offered Mary a card, (*) but she had already been whisked away surrounded by fashion people, press and PET officers.

Mary looked at baby clothing several times, dividing her attention equally between pink and blue clothes... She smiled: "Yes, my fingers are itching but it's still too early for buying baby clothes".

But also the children modelling in various places got her attention and she chatted with several of them.

(*) The sales rep need hardly worry. If Mary is genuinely interested in the shoes, she will be found. That is if the designer does not decide to send the shoes to the court.

Thanks for the lovely pictures :flowers:

Translated from the article:

Mary handed over with a huge smile the prestigious Nest Award to Swedish Sara Lundberg from the Swedish School of Textiles.

Founder of the Nordic Design talent show, Jan Busch Carlsen says it means a lot to the junior designers to feel Crown Princess Mary's interest in their business:

- "We are extremely pleased that Crown Princess Mary will delight the designers with her presence at Designers' Nest show. Because the show is the last official show during the Copenhagen Fashion Week SS16 the Crown Princess at the same time helps to end a important week and event for Scandinavian."

First day back at work for Mary after the family's summer vacation :)

Since Mary is no longer patron of CIFF, her visit this year was limited to the NEST Award event today.

Goodness me, the second photo from the Daily Mail showing the full length of the dress and with hair blowing across her face she looks a dead ringer for her sister Patricia. Sorry not capable of providing a link. See above posts.

The outfit that Mary wore to the Designer's Nest awards looked a familiar to me - and I was right. It has been seen before, but on another woman. If you go to the thread about last year's visit to Canada, post # 52, there is a link to Getty images. (I don't know how to post pictures) One of the women with Mary is wearing the same pink/beige coat/vest. Apparently she liked it well enough to get one for herself. She looks great in it.

:previous: Most likely Mary's adjutant.

Wonder if he was bored stiff?
It just shows what to do in order to get the best seats in the house at fashion shows. - Join the military and become an adjutant for a female royal or a first lady. ;)

Already back on the job from her trip to Rio

Lovely to see Mary back from the CP-family's summer vacation. Relaxed and summer tanned back on job.

Designers Nest this time has a good deal of emphasis on collections aimed at "curvy women" i.e. normal looking women...

Great pictures from Getty Images, Daily Mail and the Danish people on Instagram:

Australian photographer Natalie Rap spoke with the Crown Princess as she left the Fonnesbech show, and told Daily Mail Australia that Mary took the time to speak with guests and take photos.

'Everyone was really impressed with how she was so friendly and approachable,' Miss Rap said.

Thanks Polyesco & Eya. :flowers:

I can add that the Danish fashion industry which for years have been among the largest exports has increased it's export even more!
So while some would say that Mary's attendance at the fashion week is due to her being a clothes horse and so on, that is not correct. This is about percentages of the combined national export, and it's very serious money!
So the DRF are expected to help the export, hence the reason why Mary is now expected to attend this event.

https://www.bt.dk/erhverv/dansk-modebranche-oeger-toejeksporten-med-18-procent

In 2017 it was concluded that the Danish fashion export had grown with 18% over the past four years, and it's expected to be even higher here in 2018.
Danish fashion export is now the fifth largest export sector.
The export in 2017 amounted to 27.4 billion DKK and it is expected to be doubled by 2022.
