I wouldn't be surprised if at the moment Sofia's main aim is to blend in. I suspect she'd like to avoid standing out.

I thought the same, Roslyn. It looks like Sofia did not plan to stand out, she wanted to blend in and being perceived as 'one of them'.

But I was astonished by the black fascninator she wore. I usually like black and am not amoung those who think that black should be reserved to funerals. But for a bride-bride-to be it looked too solemn, imo.

Were you really "astonished" by the black fascinator? I don't understand why the fact she's getting married soon makes any difference. I see no problem with her wearing a bit of black. With that infectious smile of hers, I don't think she looked at all solemn.

Yeah, I believe you are right. I just didn't like the combination.

I liked Victoria's fascinator the best. Madeleine's was nice, but I thought the color was rather blah. I would have liked it better in a different color (and also if she had styled her hair differently).

I was also underwhelmed by the fashion at the banns. The only outfit I liked was Victoria's the rest were completely boring.

I don't know but I see things differently. A bride-to-be should stand out. I'm not saying she should be over-the-top but tastefully radiant. But I can understand if Sofia wanted to blend in given the various comments she has elicited from certain quarters since her engagement.

Incidentally, isn't it funny how Victoria's outfit was very similar in cut and colour to the one she wore to her own wedding banns? (not sure if this was the actual wedding banns or one of the other pre-wedding events)

I agree, Humera. I was a bit disappointed in Sofia's outfit. The color and style were boring, so it didn't allow her to stand out.

Victoria's dresses do look quite similar.
