Glad to see him visiting this charity again. His mother took him there when he was a boy.

“The Duke of Cambridge was elected as an Honorary Fellow of St John’s College in recognition of his promotion of a wide range of charitable activities. Through his charitable work, His Royal Highness has strived to raise awareness of how serious issues can affect young people, such as bullying, homelessness and mental health challenges. In 2016, The Duke convened a new industry-led taskforce to develop a shared response to the online bullying of young people.

In 2017 he spearheaded the Heads Together mental health campaign with The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, leading a coalition of eight mental health charity partners to change the national conversation on mental health. The campaign aimed to build on existing progress nationwide in tackling stigma, raising awareness, and providing vital help for people with mental health problems.

Conservation work and supporting communities to protect their natural environment for future generations has also been one of The Duke's key priorities for a number of years. The Duke first came to St John’s College in 2014 to complete an Agricultural Management Course with the Cambridge Programme of Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge. He returned a year later to open the School of Pythagoras Archive Centre at the College.”

I'm happy to see William being recognized for the charity work he does. When you put it all together like this post does and actually see how bits and pieces all fit together and really do make a difference., he's really accomplished a *lot* and he's really just starting to settle into the role of being a full time working royal.

@Lilyflo: Is Passage Charity part of Centrepoint? I know his mother took him often to Centrepoint but wasn't aware that she was also involved with Passage Charity.

I've been trying to find where I read about & it's in my copy of Sarah Bradford's 'Diana'. The Passage Day Centre & Night Centre was attached to Westminster Cathedral & Diana had been before without the boys. She took William in December 1993 (unannounced & with no press) & it was before he went to Centrepoint. Apparently it was quite an intimidating place with about 100 homeless people from all walks of life. William was shy at first but fine once he got talking to them. Diana took him there again later with Harry & they played chess with some of the people there.

Thanks much for the information. Passage did sound familiar to me too and just couldn't place where. I do have that book and now know where I read it. ?

Between William holding a Duchy of Cornwall meeting and Charles meeting Ambassadors its becoming easier to see what the next reign is going to look like.

William has been getting updates on the Duchy of Cornwall for years but there’s definitely been an increase lately. This is William’s 4th meeting in the last 5 months. He’s also hosting meetings now.

I think the torch has been passed.

I guess these meetings are all part of the broader "training" of the Duke of Cambridge as future monarch.

There was a mishap with one of the beer kegs during the visit.

This is what happens when you let the bosses operate the machines... :ermm:

Prince William has written the foreword on a new book regarding the preservation of the world's remaining elephants.

And he adds in the foreword that the crisis is not just about animals – but also people.
“It is families in the world’s most vulnerable regions who suffer when two rangers a week are killed on the frontline of this fight,” William writes. “It is fragile democratic systems in many nations that are at risk from the source of war violence and corruption that the illegal wildlife trade funds and fuels.

The Duke of Cambridge will pledge his support to the family of Molly Russell, the 14-year-old who took her own life after viewing harmful images on social media, as they prepare for battle with tech giants at her inquest ⁦@thesundaytimes

"Kensington Palace confirmed The Duke had contacted Molly Russell’s family on Wednesday. The content of his letter has not been made public.

The Duke of Cambridge, who has previously spoken out about the responsibility of social media firms to tackle harmful content, penned a private letter to the 14-year-old’s relatives.

Molly, from Harrow in north-west London, took her own life in 2017 after viewing online content which promoted self-harm. Her father Ian Russel said Instagram “helped kill” his daughter."
