I normally wouldn't expect Meghan to be there. But after yesterday, everything seems so no-holds-barred. Heck, at this point I wouldn't even be shocked if Meghan was Pippa's maid of honor.

I do get a chuckle at the tabloids calling Pippa jealous and insecure for not inviting Spencer Matthews' model gf of 3 months, Vogue Williams. It like they copy and pasted from six years ago, when they called Zara insecure and petty for not inviting Harry's new model gf, Flee, to her wedding.

Well, one aspect is clarified: Pippa and Harry are apparently friends, else why the invitation? This was debated earlier in the thread. And if Meghan shows up as Harry's 'plus-1', all bets are off!

I have to say, I do wish Charles and Camilla were invited. That would be very generous and cozy. With them not there (given Harry will now be there) it seems cliquish. Funny twist, not so? Hey, if I knew Charles and Camilla, the next King and Queen, I'd for sure invite them.

We don't know that they weren't invited- their schedules are very busy, particularly Charles. They may have been invited but needed to decline.

Yes, Harry's invite is interesting. Given the size of the venue I was in the camp that there's no way Harry gets an invite at the expense of one of her friends getting axed from the guest list. But he's there. I'm still a little dubious at Pippa and Harry being actual friends. Some of the other posters brought up extended family politics, and how often a sibling's in-laws will get invited even if they don't regularly socialize with the bride or groom. I leaning more towards that view. I also now think there's a good chance HM, Philip, Charles and Camilla were invited, with Pippa knowing that they'd politely decline, which they then did.

I can get perhaps inviting Harry. They are close in age and would socialize when the cambrudges have a party. But Charles and Camilla? Sorry but that would just smack 'look at who we got to come' more then a genuine invitation.

I don't see Meghan going but not because not welcome. But because she will be knee deep into filming. It would be one thing if she knew Pippa well, or she lived in the UK. But we have no sign they have even met. Yes she attended the wedding in Jamaica but that is different. One becayse she wasn't filming. And two because it was a personal friend of Harry not a slight family bond. It's more important that she get to know harrys friends and circle, and family, then Pippa at this or any point.

I like this possibility. Makes sense to me.

Interesting suggestion. Maybe.

You have a point. It for sure could get spun that way. But I'd do it. Charles and Camilla will be the next King and Queen, and they are the (socially significant) in-laws of the sister. I can see an invitation, especially if there is friendliness between Carole and Michael. I would have no problem with it.

I have a hunch a weekend for personal business (that would be high profile) would not bother the producers. Question more pertinent: would Meghan make that decision? If she does, I'd say something is (seriously) afoot.

I just read on-line that Kate had met Meghan. That might be enough.

I'm not sure filming need be that much of a litmus test for anything. JMO. If Meghan decides she wants the leeway for an event, it can be wrangled.

With Harry attending, I'd guess that this is an ideal opportunity for Meghan to experience some of the extended family, if there is a serious edge to this relationship and Meghan is okay with being very public at this stage. That's key.

There is a tabloid rumor that Kate met her and got a dream journal.

Even if true, I don't see that being enough to change plans. Nor are producers likely to change filming schedule so one actress can attend a wedding,

His is this interacting with the extended family? The Middletons are not family. Kate yes, her family no. A better test would be say skiing with the Yorks, or a weekend at high grove when dad is home. These are family. Going to see Zara riding, and hang out with Peter, autumn and Mike who are often there.

The BBC also carried the story.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte in Pippa Middleton wedding roles - BBC News

But I do think it a bit odd.

KP making an announcement about attendances at a private non royal event. If, as has been posted previously the announcement appears to have disappeared, could it have been posted in error by a KP admin. and taken down when the leak was spotted? If it ever existed.

If true, Charlotte as a bridesmaid rather than a flowergirl was a surprise - unless all the female members of the bridal party are "bridesmaids". At just turned two, there must be more than one .....Spencer would have his hands full escorting a toddler back down the isle!

Brudesmaid is pretty standard in England, at least in upper class weddings. Notice Kate had no flower girls, she had four bridesmaids. Including two toddlers. The term is used to refer to any female attendant in a wedding.

Not just in upper class weddings. Generally useage
Chief Bridesmaid or Maid of Honour(if married) is senior
Any other female attendant is a bridesmaid as you said, regardless of age.

EDIT: Ushers do not form part of the wedding procession BTW. Best Man escorts Chief Bridesmaid normally.

He must get many invitations he is unable or unwilling to accept.

The fact that he is planning to attend indicates that he and Pippa are quite friendly, apart from the in-law connection.

Once again we're seeing a prime example of the strong bond between the Middletons and the Windsor sides of the family. Family is family and its no wonder that William grew to love being with his wife's family. The rest of the Windsors seem to like the Middleton's company also. All good stuffs.

Whether or not Harry comes with a beautiful plus one on his arm isn't really going to matter much in my book although I bet there will be many, many eyes peeled to see if that arm is empty or not. Regardless, it doesn't mean a thing other than Harry's going solo to a friend's wedding.

In a way I am really glad that Pippa and James have conceded a bit to the press being there. I am really looking forward to seeing the little munchkins all dressed up in their finery for the occasion. Something tells me that George will pull off his role like the "important big boy" he is at Aunt Pippa's wedding.

Please forgive me if I have misunderstood this thread. I had thought that it was about Pippa Middleton. Instead it appears to be about whether Prince harry will be attending her wedding , and who he may or may not attend with.

For myself I am not bothered who goes and who does not. I am more interested in speculation about what Pippa might wear.
After all , this thread is about her

Yeps.. its her wedding. Its her day and its her prerogative who she invites to the wedding and the reception and its also her prerogative to whom she has in her wedding party. All the discussion has stayed on topic surrounding this one day in Pippa and James' life.

Amid a lot of media speculation and just plain made up stories, a lot of details about the wedding has been quite foggy and when we get some credible clarification (such as Harry being invited), its open for discussion. That's OK too.

At least the prime secret is being kept very heavily under wraps and that is what Pippa will wear on her day. I'm thinking simple, minimalistic and elegant and not too much in the bells and whistles department. Pippa will wear the dress rather than the dress wear Pippa.

At least that's what I think anyways.

The top contender is Giles Deacon fir designer. But Suzanne Neville was mentioned as well.

I see Pippa going more sleek and modern. Neville seems more along those lines. But she could pull a Kate and choose a designer she wants but have them design something outside their usual style. McQueen certainly was not the obvious choice for her lace gown. Perhaps Deacon can tone down his flamboyant style.

Not that I know a lot about wedding dresses or even Pippa's taste for that matter, looking at the links you provided, Countessmeout, I am wont to predict that from Neville, Pippa's choice will be leaning towards the Monet and from Deacon, something along the lines of Charlene of Monaco's.

Then again, we could always be knocked out of our socks by Pippa totally losing all sensibilities and wearing something along the lines in the first photo of this link.

I have doubts there. Harry also attended the weddings of Camilla's two children, I doubt he's friends with them. And very recently William attended the memorial of the 1st Earl Snowdon. I struggle to believe William and Tony were friends or close at all. It mostly all seems a case of politeness and extended family politics.

I'm not saying Harry dislikes her, or I think he would have easily found an excuse not to be there. He probably like hers well enough. For example, he liked her well enough to get her tickets for London's Invictus games back in 2014, but he didn't seat her with his friends. He sat her next to Peter and Autumn Phillips, showing he views her as extended family. Interestingly enough James Matthews also had a ticket. Here he is talking to Pippa and Autumn http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/P...ffpPjKECjl.jpg http://www1.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/P...J5-ikbnMRl.jpg

So that's my interpretation. Anyways, as for the wedding dress, I'm not very keen on fashion. So the only thing I can add to that discussion is to say that Pippa usually chooses more vivid colors for her formal wear. So I can see her picking white over ivory.

.
Prince William represented his father at this service (not funeral).
