I love the Sydney pictures. I used to have lots of pictures of royals at the Sydney Olympic games but unfortunately a computer problem wiped them all out. (And I wasn't smart enough to burn the images to a CD. ) What words did you use to search for them, Josefine?

In connection with the international tennis tournament in Copenhagen, Bjorn Borg gave the Danish Princes Frederik and Joachim each a racket exactly like the one he uses himself. The Princes who play tennis with among others their father, Prince Henrik watched the tennis gala with their grandmother, Queen Ingrid. Frederik and Joachim stayed to the last minute of the tournament even if the last game lasted till midnight.

I'm not Josefine, but I am quite sure these pictures are taken at Queen Margrethe's 63th birthday. The family celebrated at Marselisborg, so this appearence was instead of the traditional balcony scene.

It´s how we do it in the Danish army.

It's really nice to look at these old posts and see old pictures of Frederik and Joachim together You can tell they were really close, and how fun it must have been to have a brother so close in age. It looks like Nikolai and Felix are close like this, even though they are a couple years apart, but from pictures of them together, they look really close. Even though they're not brothers, I hope Christian and Isabella have the same close relationship. The children in the DRF seem so well-adjusted and happy and close!

Joachim's looks have changed so much over the years. Frederik has looked more "like himself" since he was a child.

I think Joachim favors Margrethe (and her father) more in looks. He got their height, too.

Frederik looks more like a Montzepat and a Bernadotte to me.

How things change.
Back in 78 that would have been a little silly. Nowadays the Faeroese would be very pleased and quite a few locals would also have been wearing the national costume.
