Wow--their teeth, especially W-A.

Hahaha:p

The teeth problem is just a problem for Willem Alexander. Princess Maxima's teet hare not so bad. not bad at all, it's because of the logo why her teeth look odd.

Maxima's frontteeth looks like they might be chipped, - W-A's ...

....on second thought...think I remember reading something somewhere about W-A getting bad teeth because of some medication he was/is on?

WA in Vatican today:
I read in the (canadian) Globe and Mail that Maxima was there as well, dressed in white.

Anybody got a picture of her there?

I can´t imagine that she was there. She wasn´t there for the funeral of John Paul II and I think with the visit to Japan it would have been a little bit too busy.

I don't thin kshe was there because in the picture HMQueenElizabethII posted on both sides of Willem there is a man sitting. If she was there I think she would be next to him.

Only prince Willem-Alexander and prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende attended the inauguration, so no Máxima.

I think it is because she is just back from Japan and tomorrow she and Willem-Alexander will go to Poland. 26 April, the prince and princess will open the new Dutch pavilion in Auschwitz.

Even if she was there, she wouldn't have been in white. Traditonally, only Catholic Queens, the Grand Duchesses of Luxembourg, Hapsburg Archduchesses and Princesses of Savoy can wear white, and Maxima is none of those four.

And one hour after the inhauguration of the pope the koninginnedagconcert started at Palace Noordeinde, which was attended by HM The Queen, Maxima, Friso, Laurentien, Constantijn, Margriet and Christina. It was broadcasted live on television and was repeated last night. Maxima was wearing something black.

The couple has a busy sheduele: today to Auschwitz, friday the concert on Dam-square to honour the Queen, saturday Koninginnedag in Scheveningen and The Hague, 4 may, remembranceday. And on 5 may the CP will probably attend the traditional military defile of veterans in Wageningen (previously Prince Bernhard attended this). And on 8th of may President Bush will visit our country, though I am not sure if The CP and Maxima will meet him, the Queen will meet him near Maastricht I think.

President Bush is in The Netherlands because the end of WWII, 60 year ago. He will visit the World War II Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial in Margraten.

Birthday present ;)

His Royal Highness The Prince of Orange has been promoted in his military ranks. He is now Commander in the Royal Netherlands Navy reserve, Brigade General in the Royal Netherlands Army reserve and Commodore in the Royal Netherlands Air Force reserve. Also he is now Brigade General of the Royal Military Constabulary reserve.

I hope the ranks are correct translated to English :D

What did he do to get promoted? Is it just an honorary kind of thing or is he still active in tthe military?

It was a regular promotion. He is of course busy with other crownprince-things, but he still visits the army often.

he is not active in the army,

I think that is one silly tradition to promote royals for doing nothing in particular in that particular field.

Thanks for clearing that up!

Yes, but when he is King he'll be head of the Armed Forces anyway (that is if the Dutch system is anything like the Norwegian). So recieveing promotion in the force which he wasn't trained might still give him an opportunity to learn really good the forces routines.
