Figures for William and Kate have been corrected - somehow I missed the 'other events' category when transposing the figures from one spreadsheet to the other.

Thank you again for taking the time to compile the BRF events every week.

If they reach 200 engagements each this year I will be satisfied with them, but next year (as long as no second pregnancy), they should be able to double this. Charles and Anne are more than twice their age and manage around 650 a year, but obviously they are more involved with a much greater number of organisations.

One thing we have to remember though and that is that its not entirely up to William and Kate how many engagements/duties they do. Its all carefully planned and executed by the Firm at the Queen's consent. For all we know, HM may think its wiser to keep the heir to the heir and his wife at a slower pace.

Types of Engagements

I would like to note that not all 'investitures' are when a member of the royal family is handing out honours but can be the royal either receiving an honour or, particularly in the case of the Duke of Kent, attends an 'investiture' for one of the organisations they represent. The Duke of Kent, as a Freemason, attends many events and that includes the Investiture of new highest office bearers in that organisation on an annual basis. The term used is sometimes 'installation' and sometimes 'investiture' depending on the type of ceremony being attended.

Weekly update to 15th May, 2014

A fairly standard week with 90 engagements and most of the family undertaking engagements.

An interesting engagement this week was HRH The Duke of Gloucester – 13th May, 2014 - The Duke of Gloucester, on behalf of The Queen, later held an Investiture at Oxford Register Office, 1 Tidmarsh Lane, Oxford. This is the first time that I have seen anyone other than Charles, William or Anne undertake an Investiture for The Queen in the UK and also the fact that it was in Oxford and not in one of the palaces (now watch me find a dozen of these sorts of events as I do the 2004-2011 count – which I am still working on but now that I am back at work have had to slow down a bit).

Anne has topped 200 this week – the first to do so this year.

HM The Queen - 151 (147 – up 4)

An extremely busy week with 183 engagements done in total. That isn’t surprising when you realise that Charles and Camilla were on an overseas tour as was both Harry and Andrew and Edward and Sophie were doing their week in Scotland where Edward hold the position of Lord High Commissioner of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland – a position each of his older siblings have all held as well.

Forgot to add my thanks to Cepe for the information on the 21st May which the British Monarchy website didn't update this week - and it was the busiest day so far this year with a Garden Party, Charles doing 11 engagements and Camilla 7 in Canada and Edward and Sophie quite busy in Scotland.

May I have confirmation the Monday 26th May was a Public Holiday in the UK? I have read that is was a Bank Holiday but I am not sure if that means everyone has the day off or if it is like our Bank Holiday - where only the Banks have the day off.

Yes, it was the Spring Bank Holiday, which would explain why there were no royal engagements yesterday.

The CC from 23rd - 25th is normally updated on a Tuesday Sydney time but it wasn't so I wanted to check. If the Monday was a Public holiday then the earliest the 23rd onwards would be updated would be Wednesday Sydney time. I will check when I get a chance later today but given the erratic nature of the updates this year I am not going to hold my breath.

So far there are entire weeks where there has been no update at all but thanks to Cepe who has access via The Times I am able to get the figures.

Weekly update to 29th May, 2014

I am sure that this week is not accurate because the British Monarchy website is saying that there were 'no results' for the 29th May - the day that William and Kate were in Scotland. That means either what they did there weren't official engagements or that the CC hasn't been updated, which is nothing unusual this year. It has definitely failed to update on a number of occasions - but when they fail to do so for a weekday like this is usually means it will never be updated on there.

Other days this week with no engagements are: 23rd, 25th and 26th (so officially only 3 days on which any engagements were carried out this week.
