On Friday, September 14, the royal couple gave Sweden dinner at the Royal Palace. Through the Sweden dinner, the royal family wants to pay attention to people who have made significant efforts locally, regionally or nationally.
Invited guests were representatives from culture, business, education, sports and associations from Sweden's 21 counties and the country's governors. The approximately 170 guests were welcomed and greeted by the royal couple, the Crown Princess couple and Prince couple in Lovisa Ulrika's dining room. The first to greet the royal family was the new Marshal of the Realm Fredrik Wersäll with his wife Anna.

King Carl Gustaf and Victoria attended today at the meeting of the Advisory Council on Foreign Affairs.
The Council is a consultation group between the Riksdag and the Swedish Government, presided over by The King. The Council consists of the Speaker and nine other members from the Riksdag, together with nine deputies.

On October 2nd 2018, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II met His Majesty Carl XVI Gustav, King of Sweden and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria, on the sidelines of the Opening of the General Synod of the Church of Sweden.
During the meeting, His Holiness spoke with His Majesty and Her Royal Highness about the Syriac Orthodox Church and the presence of Syriac people in Sweden.

The Riksdagssupé might take place on October 25th, I see that the entire Palace is closed that date and some of the State Apartments some time before that. But we'll see...

At the meeting the king delivered the awards Årets Miljöhjälte (The Environmental Hero of the Year) in three categories:
Biodiversity, to Angarngruppen
Climate, to Pär Holmgren
Young Environmental Hero, to Luca Berardi

What a memorable day it has been! Truly unforgettable. From waking up at five o 'clock in the morning to go for interviews all the way to finally having the pleasure of meeting his Majesty, The King of Sweden and her Royal Highness, the Crown Princess. King Carl Gustaf, Victoria and Estelle visited the National Museum previously on this week.
On Saturday, October 13, the King reinaugurates the National Museum in Stockholm, which has been closed and refurbished since 2013. Earlier this week, the King, the Crown Princess and Princess Estelle received the opportunity to visit the museum.
At the National Museum there are several thousand objects, many of which come from former kings' collections. The oldest works can be traced to Gustav Vasa's time in the 16th century. By the middle of the 18th century, the royal art collections reached world class, thanks to Queen Lovisa Ulrika and Carl Gustaf Tessin. The ambitions grew further with King Gustav III.

Princess Estelle's exciting day with Victoria and the King

Hand in hand, the King, Crown Princess and Princess Estelle go down to the National Museum stairs.
Together they have received an exclusive tour of the museum's treasures which, on Saturday, for the first time in five years, are to be displayed to the public.
- It was a very enjoyable day and it was highly appreciated by all three generations, said Margareta Thorgren, director of the press department.
Since 2013, the National Museum in Stockholm has been closed for renovation, but on Saturday, the gates will open again to the museum.
Already earlier this week, the king, Crown Princess and Princess Estelle received a preview of the museum.
- It was nice that our current head of state and the future heads of state together could have the new museum presented to them, said Margareta Thorgren.
On Saturday there is the big opening ceremony where both the royal couple and the Crown Princess couple will attend. The public also has the opportunity to participate.
- The new inauguration of the National Museum is very big. The king will hold an opening speech. It is also very important for Sweden as a whole in terms of Swedish culture and the amazing national treasures in the museum. It is something that the royal family also wants to highlight, says Margareta Thorgren.

Before the King reinaugurated the museum he said, among other things:
"From my office on the other side of the water, I have been able to follow the five-year refurbishment with interest. And I really look forward to seeing the results - even from the inside."
After that, the royal couple and the crown princess couple, together with minister Alice Bah Kuhnke and the superintendent, received a tour led by Magnus Olausson, Head of the Department for Collections and Research.

King Carl Gustaf, crown princess Victoria, prince Daniel, prince Carl Philip, princess Sofia and princess Christina attended at an assembly evening at the Royal Palace on Tuesday evening.
The Royal Court Parish is a parish within the Swedish Church whose members consist of the Royal Family, those who have or have had an employment at the Royal Court or at the King's Military Staff and their families. The Royal Chapel is the church for the around 500 members.
Twice a year, the member of the Royal Court Parish are invited to the assembly evening in the Bernadotte Library, where the royal couple or parts of the royal family regularly attend and host. On these occasions, a lecture is always held on some actual subject.

We may soon see the king and Victoria at Skiftelskonselj, and have a date for Riksdagssupé, at least we can hope so:

The Speaker will present a proposal to the Riksdag for a candidate for prime minister on 12 November. The Speaker's proposal will be Ulf Kristersson (Moderate Party).
The proposal for a new prime minister will be presented and tabled in the Chamber at 10.30 a.m. on 12 November. The proposal will be tabled again on 13 November. The proposal will then be put to the vote in the Riksdag on 14 November at 9 a.m.
If the proposal for a new prime minister is approved, the prime minister will, as soon as possible, inform the Riksdag of the names of the other ministers. This can be done on 15 November at the earliest. A Council of State (Skifteskonselj) will then be held.

The proposal of Ulf Kristersson as new Prime Minister was today voted down in the Riksdag, thus no Skifteskonselj (Council of State). The result was awaited , and the process to form a new Government continues.

I don't know if they will wait with a Riksdagssupé until a new Government is in place or not, however the entire Palace is closed on 5 December, which indicates a major event. A regular Official dinner don't require to close all Apartments.

And 5 Decemberis removed from the closing schedule. So very likely a Riksdagssupé was planned for that date
 
While in New York City, the King and Queen (as well as Princess Madeleine) attended Lena Kaplan's 70th Birthday Party held at the Rainbow Room.

The Riksdag commences celebration of democracy
On Monday, December 17, the Riksdag begins the celebration of democracy's breakthrough in Sweden. Two newly written anthologies are presented and two exhibitions are opened. The events are open to invited guests as well as the media.
The Riksdag highlights and celebrates democracy in the years 2018-2022. The celebration begins in Riksdagshuset on December 17th - on the day 100 years since the historic principle decision on universal and equal voting rights.

On Monday 17 December, the King and Crown Princess attended a seminar at the Riksdag to celebrate the breakthrough of democracy in Sweden.
The Riksdag draws attention to the introduction of democracy in Sweden through a four-year long democracy jubileum where democracy's breakthrough in Sweden will be celebrated in various ways. December 17, 2018, it is a hundred years since the first agreements on universal and equal voting rights were taken in the Riksdag.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the breakthrough of democracy, the government decided earlier this year to make a 17th December 2018 a temporary general flag day.
At the Riksdag, the King and Crown Princess were welcomed by Speaker Andreas Norlén. The seminar was then initiated with a speech by Andreas Norlén.
Seminar's moderator Cecilia Garme then left to the editors Lena Wängnerud and Ulrika Holgersson, Professor, who presented the anthology of the Century of the Voting Right.
Professor Emeritus Christina Florin and Associate Professor Fia Sundevall gave a history description of everything from voting rights to women's political participation and all those who did not have the right to vote.
Lecturer Ulrika Holgersson talked about the struggle for voting rights from a media perspective.
Professor Jan Teorell and Professor Lena Wängnerud talked about the future of democracy, that it is questioned from different angles and how it has been viewed throughout the ages.

This year the king decided, that Carl Philip, Sofia, Madeleine and Chris don't attend, and the press has speculated that this is because the king is angry for the mess what happened at the Swedish Academy. The king is the patron of the Academy.
But before 2010 usually the king, queen and Victoria attended at the gathering (Victoria attended for the first time in 2000), in 2008 only the king and queen. In 2010 Daniel attended for the first time, and then also Madeleine attended. In 2011 Carl Philip attended with the king, queen, Daniel and Victoria. In 2012-2013 also Chris attended and in addition to in 2014 Sofia attended for the first time.

Swedish Academy's Royal Prize
The Swedish Academy has decided to award P. C. Jersild the Royal Prize 2018. The prize was founded in 1835 by Karl XIV Johan, and the prize is still awarded by the King.
P. C. Jersild is a author, born 1935 and resident in Stockholm. He is a qualified doctor and worked as such until 1977 with a focus on psychiatry and social medicine. After that he has been a full-time author. Jersild has published thirty books, most novels.
