Regnal Number.

Why is the regnal number in HM The King's name is between Carl and Gustaf instead of being King Carl Gustaf XVI?

Because he is the 16th Carl or Karl to rule Sweden.

Yes,I know but why is the XVI is in between Carl & Gustaf instead of being after Gustaf such as King Carl Gustaf XVI?

It gives itself. Because he is the 16th Carl or Karl - not the 16th Carl Gustaf.

Do you know whether the king and queen was End of May 1997 in Japan?

What are they doing there and some pictures of the visit?

You can buy the catalog of the Queen's Dresses by royalcourt. Please contact it by mail.

My suggestion is that you contact them via telephone, you call the switchboard and ask to be directed to the Royal Gift Shop at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. You can find the telephone number here.

Crown Prince Victoria Of Sweden is the world's only female heir -apparent to a throne. Her, Carl and Madeleine all suffer from a disorder called dyslexia and all three of them are former gymnast.

Gymnasts? When were the royal children gymnasts? I don't think Madeleine suffers from dyslexia.

They went to gymnasium- which is what they call schools over in Europe (not in every country but in a few). I've included the link.

She is an heiress apparent- but there are some females who are heiresses apparents of an heir apparent (Amalia of the Netherlands, Ingrid of Norway, Elisabeth of Belgium)
I've don't ever remember reading that Madeleine has dyslexia- I've only heard that Victoria & Carl Philip have it

I believe Madeleine is dyslexic but it's not as serious as Victoria or Carl Philip's dyslexia.

I know she is the heiress-apparent and it is true that Madeleine suffers from dyslexia and not only her and her sister and brother but their father The King also suffers from it.I used heir- apparent to make my quote short.

HI all, i have a question :) How old is the Swedish royal family??
and when there is a newborn in the royal family, are there any rules or any ummm lets say measures to follow, i mean does the new baby need to carry the name of one of his ancestors? especially when its in the case of a future king or queen?...for example Victoria, does anybody know why did her parents choose that name for her? thanks

Do you mean how long the House of Bernadotte has held the throne of Sweden, or do you mean the age of the individual members of the Royal Family? The answer to the first question is since 1818, when Karl XVI Johan became king of Sweden and Norway. You can read about the Royal Family and more about history on the Royal Court's website.

No, there no rules for names - but there are traditional names that male members of the Royal Family, from different dynasties, have held that I suppose will be used also in the future. Carl/Karl and Gustav/Gustaf are the two most important names.

I think Crown Princess Victoria was named after Queen Victoria of Sweden (née of Baden), wife of King Gustav V, and the one who created the Royal Family's beloved summer haven Solliden on the island of Öland.

Here's the picture you wanted, Cloclo.

And I agree, that "gymnasist" is the Swedish term for high school student, and that Victoria was named after her great great grandmother.
