From the book Royal Romance by Lynn Picknett:
Churchmen disapproved of the wedding taking place in Lent but the Queen {Victoria}, reminding them that she was the Head of the Church of England, insisted the service to be held on 10 March 1863 in St. George's Chapel, Windsor.
Prince Albert Edward's wedding was the first wedding of a Prince of Wales at Windsor since 1361.
Princess Alexandra was presented with an exquisite gift by her train-bearers.
She received an enameled gold bracelet.
Each section of the bracelet contained one of the girls' portraits in miniature with their initials in diamond set beneath hinged flaps.
For her wedding, Princess Alexandra carried an exquisite holder which held her bridal boquet.
It was carved out of fresh pink crystal. Its stem was banded with emeralds and diamonds.
Prince Albert Edward wore a uniform made for him by Henry Poole of Saville Row and the insignia of a general.
Albert Edward had been promoted to the rank of general on his twenty-first birthday.

When Princess Alexandra married Albert Edward, Prince of Wales in 1863, neither the Brussels lace dress she had planned to wear nor the the gift of lace given by King Leopold I of Belgium could be used due to its un-Britishness.
