I also prefer her grander hairstyles, it's almost as exciting to see how she wears her hair as it is to see the dress and jewellery. There's usually a lot of artistic work done by her hairdresser, but I don't know what to say about this. She is beautiful when she wears her hair down on other occasions, but this time it doesn't work for me. It looks like she's trying to look younger than she is, and this is not the first we've seen of that lately...
The jewellery, however, looks great as usual. I really like the nine-prong tiara, but then, I love most tiaras!

She looks wonderful in everything, but that piece always looks a touch awkward to me--I love the amethyst tiara.

What do you think about this combination of jewels with the red dress?

I am not too fond of this demi parure, but it is nice to see that the Swedish are actually enlarging their collection, the Queen has aquired some new demi-parures over the years! Any idea where she got this one from? Maybe a gift of a sultan or sheikh?

The stones themselves are lovely; the necklace reminds me a little of the Delhi Durbar necklace Queen Mary's (now QEII's). I do like nice emeralds, and Silvia wears everything very well--but this style of necklace and earrings is a little dated to me--it reminds me of the eighties/early nineties. I don't particulary care for it.
Also, the red gown and the green stones are a little too "Christmas-y" for me. Pity, normally Silvia looks perfect to me.

To me it's the most ugly parure in the swedish collection - it looks like a mix between a dragqueen's costume jewellery and something on Dynasty's Alexis on a very bad day...
But - as always: Silvia is too elegant to not looking good...

I am shamefully ignorant about the Swedish Royals. However, have found this thread absolutely marvellous. How beautiful and regal is Queen Silvia. I have not yet seen a bad photo of her. Her jewels easily outshine the collections of our own BRF I think. Her sapphires and amethysts are perfect!
Thankyou everyone for your wonderful pictures.

It is always such a treat to see the Edward VII ruby tiara; it is really a beautiful piece. I believe there was a matching necklace which was sold; truly a pity.
I would love to see Silvia wear this tiara with her hair up--the tiara would look wonderful with Gibson Girl type of hairstyle.

I like the King Edward's VII tiara is very lovely, but for some reason it seems to be kind of tight and upright, it would be prettier if it was a little more open.
