No one knows.

It is possible that Queen Fabiola bequeaths them to the Church to finance a monastery, or bequeaths them to her brother Don Gonzalo de Mora y Aragón, Marques de Casa Riera, Conde de Mora or her nephew Don Luis de Mora y Narváez, Vizconde de Baiguer, the future Marquess.

After all Princess Mathilde is 'just' the lady who happens to be married to a son of a younger brother of her late spouse. No more, no less. That would have been the same as the Duchess of Kent giving jewels to Camilla. There is no relationship between them.
And the relationship between Fabiola and Paola was never warm.

I am not crazy about the drop and just plain danglely earring she wears I like her with plainer more charming sort of jewels. She seems to me just that sort of a woman I am not sure those of you who are more familiar with the way Mathidle dresses will know but I don't think all that suits her.

Is it the same necklace she wore to the birthday/anniversary celebrations in Luxemburg?

Maybe she received some impressive jewels from the rulers of Bahrein.

I hope so. She needs more jewelry as she needs one even little tiara.

But did you notice than all of three princesses has her one tiara each.

They like each other so why not borrowing the jewels?

Btw. it could be interesting if ladies from different royal families borrow from time to time they personal jewels to each other f.ex Maxima to Mathilde...

Big and vulgar? Those diamonds are the smallest I've ever seen, and the ruby is really not that large either, and not that great. I can see not liking the ring, but big? What did you think of Diana's sapphire ring? That struck me as bordering on vulgar.

May be can't be considering the most beautiful ring in the world but, it is not vulgar at all...
