The delegation will visit Dakar, Gorée Island, and Saint-Louis where the agenda includes political interviews, an economic forum, and project visits.

On January 18th, GD Henri awarded the "Grand Duke Adolphe Prize 2017" to Miikka Heinonen for his work "Belief Systems-type 2", a photograph (lambda print on aluminum). Finnish born Mr. Heinonen lives and works in Luxembourg for 20 years and won the award in 2007. He regularly exhibits his work at Salon du Cercle Artistique de Luxembourg.

GD Maria Teresa was originally scheduled to hand out the prize as she is patron of Le Cercle Artistique de Luxembourg.

After the welcome ceremony, GD Henri and the Luxembourg delegation toured Gorée where he was elevated to the rank of pilgrim-ambassador. A plaque was installed to commemorate the Grand Duke's visit. Returning to Dakar, a reception closed the first day of the visit.
