How does the saying go? - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery :D
Saying that, the Western style of riding still doesn't catch on in England, it's to do with a fear of releasing the contact on the bit - too much Pony Club instilled in everyone.
Not at all, many 'pony clubbers' ride with Hackamores and not everyone was or is a pony club member. I have to point out, that no Western style riders seem to enter the 3 day events! :D

Different people have their preferences, but most of the riding world use the same riding style as the UK.
It's a little like the difference between riding a BM and a Harley, if you love one, you probably won't like the other! :flowers:

I'm amused by her security guard (in photo Anne 3). He's not sure if he likes the new business suit look or not.

Like me he probably does but, like me, is a bit unsure about the biker gloves and trouser flare.

She looks so cute in "Anne 3"! Those shoes with that suit are adorable. It's a typical choice for Anne: comfort over fashion! :)

I don't think he is a security guard, they don't normally wear a badge giving their name or position. :D

The Princess Royal got back home from Italy in time to hand out prizes at the Gatecombe trails.

This horseandhound thread leads with a competitor's pictorial report. It takes time to fully download and I had to tweek some of the photos to make them open. (right click and save to 'favourites' and then open them from there)

Mr S spent many happy times based in Guetersloh (although his hiring was in Marienfeld) and has fond memories of it's very friendly people! :flowers:

Thanks for the wonderful post, Iceflower!:flowers: It looks to me like the pictures reflect her desire to be there and complete the job at hand as a professional. That's what I like about her. She takes care of business and puts effort, as well as care, into her duties as a member of the royal family.

You are most welcome, atrain83 :flowers:

And Skydragon, I hope Mr S was able to see more of the
other great German cities besides Guetersloh :)

Today Anne braved the rain with a lovely smile:

News breaking on BBC is that the Princess Royal's helicopter has caught fire in North Wales. She's believed to have been in the school at the time. More as it comes.

She reminds me of Elizabeth I.
What a warrior Queen HRH TPR would have made! :flowers:

What a great video from ILPH!

It's not too often that I can find any sort of live video of the Princess Royal in action at her engagements.:flowers: I can't speak for anyone else, but I live in the U.S. and I typically only see a montage of clips put together into some sort of a report done by the media usually posted on various websites, but this video/speech was great!

I enjoyed learning more about the cause and awareness of the ILPH and the good work put forth by HRH Princess Anne. Cheers!:D

TWO building projects in Nairnshire costing more than £8 million will be officially opened by the Princess Royal, Princess Anne later this month.

Wow, I think Princess Anne looks stunning in the red outfit in Pic 1!:flowers:

Although, I'm partial to the color red (I think it is a very elegant color), I would love to see PA wear more stunning and eye-catching outfits like this.

Thank you iceflower. :flowers:

New pictures, thank you iceflower. :flowers:

The colour is gorgeous even though the outfit looks a little baggy on her, still a better look than we have seen in the past. To be honest, for all the work she does, I could almost forgive her sackcloth! :ROFLMAO:
