The Late Princess Grace: Pictures and News Part VII

So beautiful in 1977 and in winter holidays 1960 :rose2:

Does anyone know if this story is true - when Madonna married Guy Richie, she wore a tiara that was once worn by Princess Grace. This story was repeated over and over again in the internet press. I found a photo of the tiara that Madona wore but can not find any pictures of Princess Grace wearing the same tiara.

I think the rumour that Madonna was to wear a Cartier tiara worn by Grace at Princess Caroline's wedding gained some substance because it was a claim made on an official Madonna website, but it was quickly denied both by "sources close to Madonna "& Cartier. Madonna ended up wearing an Edwardian diamond tiara made I think, by Aspreys which I believe she put up for auction on ebay not too long ago - there's no record I have come across that connects the tiara Madonna wore with Princess Grace.

is it true that she had an abortion early on in life as stated in the Vanity fair article... and that her and ranier's relationship was rocky,,..if so when was it rocky..

I don't recall reading that Grace ever had an abortion at any time in her life. Exactly where in the "Vanity Fair" article did it say that? In regard to her relationship with Prince Rainier, "rocky" is a very general term. EVERY couple has hard times, no matter who they are or what position(s) they hold. What matters is that the Prince and Princess stuck it out, never divorced, and, it seems, remained devoted to their children and the principality.

Ah, theoretically Grace did have an abortion. Apparently when she was in a relationship with Oleg Cassini, Grace was pregnant at the time they got engaged and were arranging to marry but Grace bowed to the pressure put on her by her parents (and the press - Grace was apparently deeply worried about what it would do to her image if the "virginal" Grace Kelly married a twice divorced fashion designer with children), broke off the marriage and had an abortion. That's all pure speculation of course but that's how the story goes. Of course later in life she had several miscarriages after the birth of Albert (often thought to be another reason why Stephanie was so spoiled - because she was Grace and Rainier's "miracle baby") but they weren't abortions.
In regard to her relationship with Rainier, apparently Grace felt like a "bird in a golden cage", supposedly telling someone (I can't remember who at this point in time) that she could never leave Rainier because he would take her children away from her so she would never be able to see them again and that she felt "trapped". There was also the rumours going round that when Grace moved to Paris with Caroline and Stephanie that it was really code for a separation and some people have said that at the time of her death Grace was planning to leave Rainier and go to Paris with Stephanie to watch over her whilst she studied at the Institute of Fashion Design - however Stephanie had other plans, to go to race car driving school with Paul Belmondo. Again, it is speculation but it answers the question in the same way the (I believe) the Vanity Fair editors would have answered it.

Every marriage has rocky patches, so what? Please be careful when wondering if a woman killed her unborn child. This is a very serious question and one best not to be asked. Princess Grace spoke frequently in magazine interviews, supporting family values, morals, against pornography and against abortion. Her last TV film was at the Vatican in Rome. She filmed a documentary about the importance of praying the rosary. Why does Vanity Fair want to tarnish her image? Vanity Fair's accusation is insulting.

The media believe themselves entitled to "tarnish" the image of who they want - like Vanity Fair and other magazines have a right to do so. This hurts. Grace once said: "Press freedom reduces the freedom of the people." This was true then and true now. Well it also said in his last interview in 1982: "Those who believe they are speaking of what I feel? How can they know what I think every minute?" They know nothing about my feelings. "

What of abortion can never know but I think that is very serious to talk so openly. Grace - I'm sure, would never have voluntarily aborted. Recall that she was faithful Catholic, with values, an excellent wife and mother. Throughout his life he made mistakes, like everybody, but who are we to talk about it? I think the best we can do is remember what it was "a generous person who cared about the problems of others."

On the other hand, Grace married love, she said again and again during his lifetime. It really missed the movies, but - frankly - had too many duties in Monaco for her to waste time in thinking and in annelids things were not going to happen: I had a job, a family, a husband and a lot of homework as a public person.

She usually said that she had never had a permament happiness feeling, she thought happiness was only for moments.

We recommend that you see on YouTube the last interview for American program in 1982. If you put "1982 Grace Kelly last interview" the you can find. Here she talks openly about everything, and that's what really matters.

It is my opinion, remember to Grace with respect. She would have wanted it that way. You can no longer respond to Vanity Fair. W e - fans, we must defend it.

:previous: Thank God for Howell Conant. I have both copies of his book on Grace and they take something of a pride of place in my home.

Yes, Grace was a Catholic but she had a very pragmatic attitude in regards to religion: when Caroline had problems with her first husband she was reluctant to separate or divorce because of her religion and it was Grace who encouraged her arguing that "religion should not be there to make people unhappy". So I would not base assumption on Grace's behaviour on a strict adherence to Catholic principles at all times. I think she was mature enough to take into account Catholic rules but then decide independently for her life. Her attitude to Caroline's divorce proves it in my opinion.

Thanks for the pics Sensibility. Stephanie was such a clown  i love her.
And the pic of Mr and Mrs. Kelly... Mama Kelly was very elegant, i guess Grace inherited that from her :flowers:

Does the "American Week" still be celebrated in Monaco now?

To me, it looks like Grace Levine, Princess's Grace's niece. (Lizanne's daughter who passed away in 99 of cancer)She would have been around 10. She visited Monaco alot and was very close to Caroline when they were younger.

Wow, that's an interesting piece of memorabilla!!
