Has Princess Louise recovered from pneumonia? I hope that Laurent recovers quickly. Pneumonia can develop complications if it isn't treated right away, but it sounds like Laurent is receiving excellent care.

Princess Claire of Belgium is pictured after visiting Prince Laurent
in the Saint-Luc hospital in Brussels, Tuesday 11 August 2009.
Prince Laurent is hospitilaized because he suffers from pneumonia.

She smiles, that's surely a good sign.

Yes, Princess Louise has recovered. One of the twins was also lightly feverish, but it turned out to be nothing serious, but the other one, and Princess Claire were not ill.

That's a sad news, I hope he and Louise will soon recover.

Prince Laurent has left the hospital today.

Although it's surely nice for him to see that people care
about his condition, it must have been difficult to have
the media around at such a moment, when you are not
really ready yet..

I am so pleased to see that Prince Laurent left the hospital. I hope that he continues to recover and gain strength back.

I am glad that Prince Laurent recovered quickly from pneumonia. He looks tired in the pictures. Hope he will have a much-needed rest at home.

Great news that he is out of the hospital and thank goodness it didn't sound too serious.

no, Prince Laurent himself thought he was suffering from that flu, which is why he sought immediate help in a hospital and left his friends house so as to not be able to contaminate anyone else. The official announcements clearly say he had a bad case of bronchopneumonia, of which he recovered completely and quickly.

Until the Palace announces otherwise, there is no reason to claim something else.

Good that he recovered, he does still look abit tired but since he is out of hospital he must be fine.

I dont see a problem whether he had or didnt have the flu. I know a few people who got it and got better in no time. Its not something to really worry about if you have the right medical attention.

Cool

The Prince appears to have lost weight and looks as if he still is not feeling well. I've had bronchopneumonia a few years ago and it takes a while to get back to really feeling up to par.

It's unfortunate that he had bronchopneumonia but I'm certainly glad it wasn't the swine flu.
I hope he'll be back to normal soon.

As of this school year, Prince Laurent is sending his daughter, Louise to a French state school, according to this report from Belgian news website deredactie.be.

See our blog as well.

This probably won't be a popular decision. Was the French school cheaper than any of the Belgian schools in the area? Is that the sole reason for the decision? It is a shame that Princess Louise won't be able to attend a bilingual school, IMO. Does anyone know if she is learning Dutch at home?

Well, apparently the French school is less expensive than the private school Louise was attending previously. I am not sure if she learns Dutch at home, only if she has a Dutch-speaking nanny, I would think.

I find it a terrible thing that princess Louise is going to a French School, ok it is less expensive but she is a Belgian princess and she has to learn to speak ALL the languages good. The girl has going to have a lot of comment if her dutch is going to be terrible, it is well known that they speak most of the time french at home !

It is hard for me to determine whether or not the transfer to a French public school was a right decision on the part of Prince Laurent and Princess Claire. At the same time, it would be fair to say that Prince Laurent and Princess Claire have got reasons for doing so. I just hope that Princess Loiuse will be given an opportunity to learn Dutch.

I can't see why she needs to go to a french or a private school in the first place. The Belgian school system is excellent, many Dutch people who live close to the Belgian border prefer to send their children to Belgian schools.
And indeed it is rather silly to send her to a school where she won't learn any Dutch. It is a very sensitive issue so the controvercy was to be expected. If the royal family wouldhave been more fluent in Dutch it would not have been a problem I guess, but with all of them it is obvious that Dutch is not their first language.
