Prince Daniel came to visit the Hagaskolan in Vallentuna municipality today. Flags, balloons and music met the guest of honor who came to learn more about the school and the municipality's work to get more municipal residents in motion.
At Hagaskolan in Vallentuna, it was not any day today, one was waiting and waiting for a very special guest.
Just before two o'clock, half past two, the school's youngest students marched out in orderly directions under the supervision of their teachers. The vast majority had their own Swedish flags in hand.
- We older students have real flags, it's the younger ones who have to make their own, explained a boy who was waiting for the prince and his company.
From a stage built up in the middle of the schoolyard, the students of the school of culture and teachers together heard one last rehearsal.
Far away on the road up to Hagaskolan, he finally came walking.
The children cheered, waved balloons and held up their flags, both self-produced and real. Mothers, fathers and school staff proudly caught up with the Prince's rapid steps.
- Hello Hello! Hello there! What nice vests you have! Is it because of that you are visible in the traffic? asked Prince Daniel as he was closely followed by SÄPO, the municipal council's chairman Parisa Liljestrand and a number of other representatives from the municipality. Also in the company was Per-Anders Dagborn, the owner of Sports Club Vallentuna, where the company would go after the visit to Hagaskolan.
American superstar Pharrell Williams hit "Happy" was performed by the musicians on stage while a dance number was launched just below. After a couple of well-chosen pieces, it was time for the prince, politicians, municipal peaks to move on to the school's hall.
Before that, Prince Daniel stepped off to the stage for a quick instrumental talk with the promising young musicians:
- I played a little mandolin when I was a kid, and then I played a little guitar, but I never did anything really good. You should be glad that you started playing and that you have come as far as you have done, Daniel told the students of the cultural school.
In the School's hall, the theme of the day, the Hagaskolan and Vallentuna Municipality's ambitious efforts to keep their children and young people in motion deepened. After that, the program continued again in the school yard where students and teachers showed different types of exercises and sports activities within the framework of what they call LIKE.
What does it mean for the prince to come today?
- He works for children to move. It will be a confirmation of our work that the Prince comes here today.
