His Majesty is to meet with Saudi king Salman at his residence in Morocco. He will also visit Edinburgh to attend Royal Military Tattoo as guest of honor.

King leaves for Morocco, Scotland

Amman, Aug. 3 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, Wednesday, left Amman heading for Morocco, where he is set to meet the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, at his residence in Tangier.

The two leaders will hold talks on bilateral ties, in addition to the latest regional and global developments.

After his visit to Morocco, King Abdullah II will depart to Scotland's capital, Edinburgh, to attend the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo as a guest of honor. The festival is one of the world's most popular and highly anticipated military events.

The Royal Jordanian Honor Guard - Silent Drill Team, the Jordanian Armed Forces Band, the Royal Guards Brigade and Circassian guards will be representing Jordan in the festival, which coincides with Jordan's celebrations of the centenary of the Great Arab Revolt.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, took the oath as Regent in the presence of Cabinet members.

King, Saudi monarch discuss ties, Mideast issues

Tangier, August 3 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, met with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saudi, at his residence in the Moroccan city of Tangier.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed Jordanian-Saudi relations which received a boost following the establishment of a joint coordination council. The talks, attended by Deputy Saudi Crown Prince and Minister of Defense, Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, dealt with the latest developments in the Middle East.

The Saudi monarch hosted a lunch banquet in honor of King Abdullah II attended by top officials from both sides.

King guest of honor at 2016 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

Edinburgh, Aug. 7 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania Saturday attended the 2016 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, as a guest of honor.

The 67th military spectacle is being held at the UK historic Edinburgh Castle with the participation of military bands from around the globe.

Upon arrival, the King was received by British Defence Secretary Michael Fallon, Governor of Edinburgh Castle, Mike Riddell-Webster and a number of senior military officials as well as Jordan's ambassador to London Mazen Homoud.

During the global gathering, His Majesty watched a number of military tattoos performed by military bands representing different world countries including Jordan.

The Royal Jordanian Honor Guard - Silent Drill Team, the Jordanian Armed Forces Band, the Royal Guards Brigade and Circassian Guards are representing the Kingdom in the festival, which coincides with the Kingdom's celebrations of the centenary of the Great Arab Revolt. The Kingdom's first participation in global event dated back to 1963.

His Majesty also attended a reception hosted by the Governor of Edinburgh Castle with the presence of 120 people.

Ahead of the event, King Abdullah met with Secretary of State for Defence Michael Fallon, during which they discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the military, defense and training fields. Discussions also covered the latest important regional issues mainly efforts to fight terrorism in a holistic approach.

The meeting was attended by the King's Military Adviser and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mishal Al Zaben and the Kingdom's ambassador in London.

nice to see that the king and queen made an effort to be at the royal tattoo on the year jordan was commemorated :)
