:previous: Oh you have got to be kidding! ?

Going on that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were doomed beyond redemption with no hope of a divorce for sixty years and still counting:

  • the bride forgot to get her pearls
  • the bride forgot to have her tiara checked for it's big day
  • the bride forgot where they put the bridal bouquets

Thats amazing that maybe Q Elizabeth was expecting someone else to remember for her

The wedding of Jean of Luxembourg and Josephine-Charlotte of Belgium was full of mishaps. The bride’s stepmother Liliane and grandmother Elisabeth fought over precedence, which seemed to upset JC deeply. She initially stood on the wrong side of the altar, confused the order of her vows, tripped over her train, and collapsed while crying. There was talk that she, Jean, or both were actually in love with commoners and she was distressed about having an arranged marriage, but I do think it was the fight that threw JC off course and things went from bad to worse. The reception went much more smoothly.

During Alice of Battenberg’s wedding to Andrew of Greece, it was the priest who made the mistake and caused a very awkward moment. Alice had to memorize the responses to her vows in Greek. As she was deaf, she did not realize when the priest had reversed the order of the vows:

Priest:
“Have you already been married?”

Alice:
“Yes.”

Priest:
“Have you renounced having any other man in your life?”

Alice:
“No.”
