I hope Queen Mary will debut the Floral Aigrette Tiara (and wear it in the Queen Ingrid version) for the New Years Day.. But i hope she will leave the crown jewels untouched as i’m thinking about visiting the Rosenborg Museum on the day before and don’t want to see anything having been taken out…

For QMII i think its time to bring out the Baden Palmette Tiara and Queen Alexandrine’s Sapphires again… Or maybe the Saudi Diamond Necklace that she haven’t worn in a long time and is one of the very few all diamond necklace’s she has left since the abdication..

For Princess Benedikte and Princess Marie i hope for the Star and Pearl Tiara and the Nuits Claires Tiara for a change..

Margrethe is confirmed to attend. I predict she will wear the Baden Palmette tiara.

Could also be the Naasut tiara which she wore once for the New Years Court. Paired together with her turquoise demi parure which was a gift from Prince Henrik
Will certainly be interesting what she chooses as none of the tiaras she regularly used for the New Years Court in the last years are available anymore for her

Any last minute predictions for the Danish New Year's Court?

Queen Mary - I go back/forth between the Emerald set and the Agriette tiara on the frame with the brilliant set from the crown jewels.
QMII - Palmette
Marie - Wedding Tiara
Benedikte - Fringe

For the upcoming new year receptions,

Denmark:
Mary - the emerald parure (actually I can see her re-use the whole look from their portrait released earlier this year)
Margrethe - Palmette or the Turquoise bandeau (kind of wishing to see her in one of her gold tiara though... )
Marie - her wedding tiara
Benedikte - wish to see her in the star and pearl tiara again

Luxembourg:
I guess,
M-T - Belgian scroll
Stephanie - vine leaves tiara or Chaumet emerald (with a better hairdo this time please)
Claire - sapphire bandeau or the floral tiara
Alexandra - diamond choker with pearl
But I wish M-T gives us last surprise

You did well in the guessing. Mary has pretty much repeated the look from the portraits, but has quite sensibly not worn the necklace, which was superfluous with the dress.

There will be a SV from Denmark to Finland in March. I predict Queen Mary will wear the Pearl Poire tiara. If there will be a second gala event, I predict Mary will wear the Diamond Bandeau tiara. The reason why it’s possible there will be two tiara events is because during the SV from Sweden to Finland in 2015, Queen Silvia wore two tiaras.

There will also be a Gala Dinner for Cultur end of February. I guess Queen Mary will wear the rosecut Bandeau for it

Which diamond bandeau tiara? The new one? That’s part of the Crown Jewels and can’t leave the country.

I think it’s possible Queen Mary may wear the Floral Aigrette Tiara in Finland. She will most likely be given the Collar of the Order of the White Rose of Finland, and if we look at all the times Queen Silvia have worn it, it works very well with a diamond tiara.

In France we already know that there won’t be any tiaras.

In France, given the lack of tiaras- Queen Mary may opt to wear part of the Ruby set like the hair clips, earrings, etc. which would be appropriate given the French connection.

In Finland - I would love to see the Floral Aigrette on the frame - but I wonder if that would be too much and she saves that tiara (which looks big when worn on the frame) for a state visit to another monarchy like Netherlands or Belgium.

So, it appears they are following the schedule of two outgoing state visits and probably to incoming state visits in the fall.

So you think Queen Margarethe and Queen Mary will share the floral aigrette, and it will not be for the exclusive of Queen Margrethe?

Not unlikely i think as Queen Silvia wore the earrings, brooch (in her hair) and a bracelet from the Cameo Parure in Paris during the last swedish state visit to France.

I don’t know but my guess is as it is a part of the foundation with jewels earmarked for the ”sitting Queen” that they have decided to share it for the occasions Margrethe also attends…

For the Danish state visits to Finland and Japan

State visit to Finland:
Mary: Pearl Poiré, Ruby or Edwardian Necklace Tiara

State visit to Japan:
Mary: Pearl Poiré or Ruby Parure

For the Danish state visit to France, I don't expect Mary wearing a tiara

Then I change my prediction for the second possible gala event to the Ruby Necklace tiara.

State visit to Japan:
Mary: Pearl Poiré or Ruby Parure
There is no state visit to Japan but an accession visit and Mary will not accompany Frederik. It will be the King only in Japan.

For the state visit to Finland I'm guessing it would be either the pearl poire again (if Mary decides to go big for the Nordic neighbour) or her wedding tiara (go small for republic country).

For the Danish State Visit to Finland I think Mary could wear the Pearl Poiré Tiara. It would of course be nice to see the Floral Aigrette/Wreath Tiara, but this might not be the occasion for that.

In the end it is Frederik and Mary that decide the dress code for their return event. The state visits to Sweden and Norway was also two days visits, so I guess we will see the same business suit reception in Finland. Nowadays it only seems to be the King and Queen of Sweden that do white tie dinners as return event (if also the state banquet was that, they never outstage their hosts).

For the state visit to France, of course no tiaras. But I think we will see parts from the Ruby Parure. Mary has shown she is creative in her way of using her jewels, this would be a good event to do the same.

For the Dinner for Culture, don't know if the dress code has been confirmed with either black or white tie. However, I think it is a good chance to see the Edwardian Necklace Tiara.

What could also be done at the SV Visit to France. One or both from the Square brooches from the Trust in her hair, but i guess the rubies are more likely as that is a note the Tricolore

The ”return dinners” overall seems to be on its way out :( Nowdays if there even is a return event at all, is usually either means in the best case a black tie dinner, but more often just a formal business reception…

I guess it has to do with the fact that most state visits are only 2 days these days, and they rather have a program full of as many activities as possible during that little timeframe, than having long dinners in the afternoon…

It will be interesting to see if there will be a return event in Finland and if so, where it will be held… Royal Yacht Dannebrog is not an option this time as the sail-season does not start until May, and this years crew is probably still undergoing training for it..

Princess Isabella of Denmark is going to turn 18 this April, do we expect a white tie birthday gala or a black tie one on the line of the one for count Nikolai?

The Danish RF likely have 2 parties coming up in April… Queen Margrethe turns 85 on April 16 and Princess Isabella 18 on April 21.

My guess is both will be black tie events.

I hope for a white-tie celebration"

I apologize for the gaffe! I actually thought she would attend!

I have to admit the Floral Aigrette is a amazing piece of art that is so uniquely associated with Queen Margrethe and the stunning incarnations of myriad forms be it tiara, hair ornaments, amazing diamond fronds wrapping around her stylish Gala updo's I believe it would be like a slap in the face for Mary to start prancing around in it.

But our Mary was a smart and talented Crown Princess who, I have absolutely no doubt, was initially skillfully guided beautifully by her M-I-L in her stunning appearances with amazing ensembles perfectly in sync with her jewellery, albeit tiaras, brooches, and a myriad of unexpected and deliciously entrancing gala appearances with a minimum of choice of jewellery.

Now we are seeing the emergence of an incredibly dynamic new Queen whose re-imagining of how to wear parures and other jewels formerly unavailable to her. Each outing has shown an elegance and style that elevates her and in no way detracts from how Margrethe wore them . . . but we already know she has restyled a very old diamond bandeau, adding and changing its form, style and look.

IMHO, we are likely to see this, the first of her queenly reimaging's before we see her wearing the Floral Aigrette, Margrethe is still a Queen and is still alive and active in her chosen areas, and gala wear is still de rigueur.

She has already debuted the new diamond bandeau
