Tiaras and Jewels guessing for upcoming events: 2024

It will be interesting to see what jewels Camilla wears, any of her newer necklaces, suites etc and its a clear sign it was a gift from Qatar.

Lets see what Camilla wears to the banquet. Even with the best intentions, it is tricky for Camilla to find a dress that will match the jewellery she may receive at lunch time. So my sense is that if Camilla is indeed seen in a new to her necklace, it is from the royal vaults, and possibly a previous Qatar gift, and not one received on the day.

I am hoping that the Floral Aigrette comes out to play at the state banquet for Egypt this week. I suspect the emeralds will emerge at the New Year banquet.

Mary : Ruby Tiara or Spinel Tiara.
(would love to be wrong but i guess the biggest chance of seeing the floral aigrette will be at the new years day levee)

Margrethe (if attending) : Baden Palmette Tiara.

Marie (if attending) : The Nuits Claires Tiara.

Benedikte : Star and Pearl Tiara.

There's a Spanish State Visit to Italy this month but I doubt we'll see anything other than earrings and maybe a bracelet.
There's an incoming Danish and British State Visit and both of those houses excel at pulling out out all the stops.

And my wish is to see the floral aigrette for the New Years Court in wreath form
I don't think we will see a tiara in Rom, even if the State Banquet it white tie.

I think Queen Margarethe will attend, she and the late princess Henrik had a special connection with Egypt the Queen went to archaeology trips when she was young to Egypt also if I remember rightly the last trip for the prince was to Egypt before he passed away!

During QMII's reign there was one outgoing state visit to Egypt in 1986 and no incoming SV from Egypt.

I do believe that we will see her wear the pearl poire (or at least part of it) given the history of the necklace and its connection to Egypt. The earrings were created from part of the necklace. I do recall reading that Queen Ingrid would pair the Floral Aigrette tiara (on the frame) with the necklace from the pearl poire. So maybe Queen Mary will do that same combination.

The pearl 'poire' garnish's necklace was a wedding gift to Crown Princess Lovisa in 1869 from the khedive, or viceroy, of Egypt. The necklace, which was probably made in France, is in white gold with two rows of large 'old cut' diamonds, interspersed by eight very large pearls, surrounded by diamonds. At the bottom of the chain originally hung five, but today only three, large, pear-shaped pearl 'poires' with diamonds around them.

The set's earrings in white gold are made from two of the necklace's original five pendants, which could already be removed from the chain and used in the ears in Queen Lovisa's time. They consist of a large pearl with a wreath of diamonds and below it a hanging diamond-crowned pearl 'poire'.

As we saw that Queen Anne Marie is in Denmark also as she attended the ballet which QMII was involved in so I hope if she still in Denmark when the state visit happens that she attend and wear the kedive tiara

Apologies, I meant if Camilla wears a necklace she already has, that we haven't seen before or we know only came from a Middle Eastern visit then we can perhaps be pretty confident it was a Qatari gift on a previous occasion. I agree that time from getting a gift to wearing it that evening isn't enough.

Princess Marie has an engagement in France on the 4th in connection with opening the Danish Christmas Month. Then on the 10th she has an engagement with one of her patronages in Denmark. I would not be shocked to see her attend the dinner. Logistically, it would make no sense to go to France for an event on the 4th - fly all the way back to DC to then a couple of days later fly all the way back to Denmark for an engagement on the 10th. So we shall see.

I do think that both QMII and Benedikte will attend the State dinner.

per the just posted program for the Egypt to Denmark State Visit, it appears that Princess Marie and Princess Benedikte will attend the State Dinner and the return dinner. Queen Margrethe is not listed as attending either event.

There are precedents in both directions as Princess Beatrix sometimes still attend banquets… And Queen Ingrid and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother was always present.

Queen Máxima - I would like to see the large Sapphire Tiara or large Pearl Tiara.
Princess of Orange - The smaller Pearl is favorite of mine, it would be nice to see her in that one.

For the State Banquet in Rome on Wednesday, in connection with the Spanish State Visit:

Queen Letizia - The Pearl and Diamond Tiara. It's black tie and other Queens have worn tiaras in Rome, so should Letizia. But I doubt it.

Queen Letizia has never worn a tiara in an outgoing state visit to a republic since her husband's accession, and neither did Queen Sofia when she was queen consort. I don't think the Spanish Royal House will change that precedent, i.e., tiaras only for incoming state visits or outgoing state visits to other monarchies.

I suspect QM takes the view that she has had her time, and it is now for F&M to be the key hosts at the state banquet. I would not expect her to regularly attend state banquets.

I concur, I am not expecting to see Letizia in a tiara in Rome.
