Radio Sweden P4 Kalmar reports that an employee of the Royal Court has been threatened on the King's hunting grounds on Öland last weekend.
The Police were called after an elderly man allegedly threatened a person who, according to information from the police, is employed at the Royal Court. The employee was part of a hunting team that was there to hunt on the King's land. The older man was not part of the hunting team. The threats were of a verbal nature and the police have held an inquiry into the matter. An investigation is now underway to clarify what happened.

Was the former staffer Ebba von Mecklenburg a descendant of Mecklenburg royal family or is it just a similar name?

Was the former staffer Ebba von Mecklenburg a descendant of Mecklenburg royal family or is it just a similar name?

Ebba is indeed a von Mecklenburg in her own right (and not by marriage) and is a descendant of a baronial branch of the House of Mecklenburg
Ebba is descended from the House of Mecklenburg through Karl Ludwig (1694-1752) who was the illegitimate son of Duke Friedrich Wilhelm 1 of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and his mistress Sophie Magdalene von Plüskow. Carl Ludwig was ennobled in 1742 under the name of von Mecklenburg. Two of his equally illegitimate half-sisters became mistresses of their uncle, the Duke Karl Leopold of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, and had several children by him.

Last week King Carl XVI Gustaf appointed the stone oven bakery Fabrique as Purveyor to the Royal Court.
- We are very happy, of course. It is an honorary appointment, says co-owner Charlotta Zetterström.
The message from the Purveyors to the Royal Court Association came last week.
- We read it over and over again. It was so much fun. And so it was in connection with cinnamon bun day and the weather was nice, says Charlotta Zetterström.
All employees are happy about this. It is a nice confirmation of what they do that it is good.
Holders of royal warrants can indicate this with the Greater Coat of Arms combined with the text ‘Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden’. Fabrique will do that. They plan to put up the coat of arms on all shop windows.

Andreas Norlén, the Speaker of the Riksdag, posted to his Instagram in September:
Fun to welcome the Marshal of the Realm Fredrik Wersäll and his European Court chief colleagues to the Riksdag. It was a fruitful meeting on, among other things, constitutional issues. The different constitutional rules of the countries affect the relationship between the parliament and the court, it is therefore interesting to compare how we work in different areas. The countries that were represented apart from Sweden were Great Britain, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway and Denmark.

A new employee at the Royal Court's Information Department:
Information officer Emilie Eliasson Hovmöller has worked there since February 2024, but her photo has been updated at the website only now.

The Marshal of the Realm Fredrik Wersäll delivered the Rolf Schock Prizes on November 11.

The Rolf Schock Prizes is unusual in that it rewards both logic and philosophy, mathematics, visual arts and music. The laureates are selected through a unique collaboration between three Swedish royal academies: the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. The final decision is made by the Schock Foundation.

He is not even 30, I assume he is considered young for the role, is that correct?

Johannes Skoog succeeds the current Court Organist Mary Ljungquist Hén, who retires on March 31, 2025.
For those understanding Swedish Mary Ljungquist Hén is a guest on the "Slott och krona" podcast in an episode devoted entirely to her.

He is not even 30, I assume he is considered young for the role, is that correct?
He is 32… He is quite young but he started to play very early and is one of Sweden’s most sought-after concert organists and choral directors… He’s educated in both Stockholm and Paris.

Radio Sweden interviewed the new court organist, Johannes Skoog:
– I would like to think that I will have quite a lot to say. But you probably don't say no to the king unless you have a very good reason to do so. Then you have to explain as best you can, but respect that a decision has been made, says Johannes Skoog, who is looking forward to getting to know everyone at the court.
Johannes talks about the significance of his participation in a major organ competition in Canada when he was chosen as court organist.

Johannes Skoog, 32, becomes the king's new organist
"I have longed for a spiritual home and now I have found it," says the new court organist.

A soldier was impaled yesterday by his bayonet when he slipped outside the Royal Palace
Now the soldiers at the Royal Guards will stop using bayonets for a while, writes P4 Stockholm.
At the same time, there is more sand put outside the Palace.

The King and Queen have sent flowers to the soldier who slipped while walking at the Royal Guards at the Royal Palace yesterday.
– I am very sorry about what happened. It was a terrible accident, says King Carl Gustaf today in Sälen.
The man was taken by ambulance to hospital where the injuries were initially assessed as life-threatening, but after surgery his condition was described as stable.
– I haven't heard the latest today about how he is doing, but the doctors have been fantastically skilled. I hope he doesn't suffer any injuries from this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the guy is doing well.

That sounds terrible. Glad to hear that he is stable after surgery.

New details about the bayonet accident at the Palace and the operation that followed.
The soldier is on sick leave and it is unclear if he will return. It is not known if he wants to return.
– He is doing well under the circumstances. It's too early to decide now. We are constantly evaluating this and it will be primarily the doctor's assessment that will decide. Their assessment is that he will recover. (..)

Quite a horrible photo of how the bayonet penetrated to the soldier's head:

Alexander Löfgren, 19, was impaled by his own bayonet in the head. The point penetrated 12 centimeters.
“It was truly a one-in-a-million accident”. (..)
At the hospital his injuries were assessed as life-threatening, he was put under anesthesia and underwent emergency surgery for five hours. The bayonet reached his brain but missed anything vital. He has suffered hearing loss and sense of touch on his right side but does not seem to have any permanent damage. He stayed in the hospital for a week. As soon as the doctors give the green light, he wants to return to military service.
King Carl Gustaf sent both flowers and a letter in which the King wished him a speedy recovery.
