Great

Live coverage from BT:
Isabella, Josephine and Vincent are running the one mile in Copenhagen. Vincent has completed in 5 minutes and 56 seconds. - Josephine struggled a little and had to walk from some of the distance.
All three of them are posing for photos, so keep an eye out.

Plenty of coverage from Billed Bladet as well: BILLED-BLADET - Kongelige

King Frederik arrived in Ribe in style, in a Viking boat, not ship. Very appropriate because Ribe is the oldest town in current Denmark.

Isabella is handing out medals to runner coming in. Considering that the three siblings are on their own, this, along with this video of Isabella crossing the finish line, illustrates that she has a very well developed flair for interacting with the public:

It was a very confident Christian who talked to the press after finishing his run in the town of Viborg:
King Frederik has previously said he expected his son to be in good shape after completing bootcamp.
Christian commented: "I'd say so too that I'm in tremendous shape after having been a conscript, so he sure is right."
Christian very much expects to beat his dad later on.

About running in Viborg: "It's been a huge pleasure running in Viborg and it's a very, very beautiful route and (it is) yet again a thrill for me to see that so many show up, so it's a big cheer from here (me)."

About training: "It's just about running a bit here and there, when you have the time and make sure you eat a varied diet. Then you certainly should be able to go for a run."

Christian completed his 5 KM in 21 minutes and 15 seconds.
Josephine complete her one mile in about 9 minutes. Isabella in about 10 minutes.

King Frederik completed his 5 km run in 25 minutes 42 seconds.

There is a pro-Gaza demonstration at a part of the route in Copenhagen right now, the public comments are not exactly favorable.

Josephine has completed the 5 km run in Copenhagen. She completed in 28-29 minutes. - Isabella and Vincent did not run, their cheered their kid-sister on.
The run in Korsør with Queen Mary will start shortly. She had to leave two displeased dogs at home. They wanted to go as well. I guess they are used to running along with mother when she puts on her running gear and shoes.

Prince Christian races in Viborg:

King Frederik X finished the race in Horsens.

Queen Mary is on her way:

Queen Mary has finished her 5 Km in the town of Korsør in 30 minutes and 14 seconds. Her legs were a bit heavy, she says and she was distracted quite a bit by people around her. The number of people having signed on is a record high 97.000+ and the of course delights her.
King Frederik will sail in for his final run in Copenhagen on the chaluppe from Dannebrog. It's funny way of both emphasizing his own affiliation with the sea and the fact that Denmark is connected, not divided, by water.

Josephine ran the 5KM and can be proud. Her first Instagram post.

What an event, I'll look for the articles but so many amazing stories from today. From the 101 year old who took part, to the cancer survivor, so many inspiring stories. I also saw article on priests washing the feet of some of the runners.
What and impact this race/day has become.

Christian did so well on his own again. running, interacting, interviews, amazing!

Seeing Isabella take time from her run to pose with so many people who were asking for a photo. great self awareness after running.

great pics so far!

Arriving to Nyhavn in style. It looks like Josephine will be joining Frederik, Christian and Vincent for the 10km!!

a great editorial
"When an event can bring us together like this, amidst all that is otherwise divisive in a crazy world – it deserves more than just a medal. It deserves respect, tribute and gratitude. Thanks for the party, Ribe. And thanks, Frederik. You didn't just start the race. You started something in all of us."

Mary helped start a waterpolo match

Here is the liveblog from some of the articles I mentioned

I’m not an athlete, so all I can say is CP Christian has a very nice smile and that will probably be a great asset in his future line of work.

And if you’ll forgive me, I still want to know — why did they decide to have the name in English rather than in Danish? Alliteration?

It's smoother on the tongue, I guess.
The Danish alternative would be: Kongeligt motionsløb - Nah.
Kronprinseløbet - Nah.
Kongeløb. That could work, but the whole thing started when King Frederik was still a CP, so unless they decide to change the name, I think we'll stick with Royal Run.

-------------

ADDED: Vincent ran the 10 km in 44 minutes.
Christian came in in 50 minutes flat.
King Frederik came in at 59 minutes, 39 seconds. - And got a kiss by Queen Mary as reward. (See it on the BT coverage).
Josephine struggled a little, but she has been running 16 km today, and that's quite a feat. No wonder she cried when she finished. She completed her run in one hour ten minutes.

The comment of the day must IMO go to a Simone, who wrote: "I'm twice as old as Josephine, but when I grow up I wanna be just as badass as her."

The family is going to have spaghetti bolognese for dinner. An all time favorite in almost all families with children.

I think I'll end this day with a photo with a quote by Vincent, after having finished the last run.
"It's fantastic to show those two here, who is best in the family."

I think Royal Run is a perfect name - you immediately know what the event is - running and that the royal family is connected to the event. Simple, straightforward, easy to say and remember.

Amazing photos and videos from the event! So many incredible images of the royal family and Danes out there running, walking, supporting - from the youngest to the oldest! Fantastic!!

The kids as usual doing a great job participating, cheering people on, taking selfies and talking to the media - and pretty much on their own the entire day. M&F can be very proud of them. These kids are very well media trained and are comfortable answering questions and interacting with reporters. They give very good TV!! - And Josephine running so much was great!! Good for her!!

A day where the community feels very close to the royal couple where the King and Queen are in the crowd, giving selfies, handing out medals and interacting with everyone! Again, giving great photos, videos and optics! Christian as well showing himself to be very accessible, sociable and enthusiastic with everyone!! At 19 years old, he is coming into his own as the heir.

Like I said yesterday, I hope King Frederik is aware of what an amazing event he has created that continues to expand and grow and people year after year run (no pun intended) to sign up for!!

I agree Izzie! I saw Isabella and Vincent too ready to pose with the runners shortly after completing their runs!

This thread on twitter has excellent videos of the day but this one stood out. Josephine having just finished the 10km, overcome with emotion and tears, her siblings surrounding her, giving comfort. Frederik and Mary can be proud

Video from the DRF
97,659 times thank you for today 💙

Amazing!
I found this on Instagram and it shows how this event is about community and family. Here is one family's video of their Royal Run experience.

The Royal Run coincided with the updated figures of the population in DK. We are now six million living in DK. 940.000 are immigrants and their immediate descendants (one generation.) with the largest segment being from Poland.

But of more immediate interest to this forum. King Frederik mentioned that he would like to see some sort of big time, party-mood version of the Royal Run in connection with his 60th B-day celebrations. I think the Danes would happily to take part in. We don't mind a good, even if the times are gloom. Well, perhaps especially if the times are gloom.

Very true Muhler! It is clear the Royal Run has become a staple in the calendar and I think the Danes really enjoy it! So many happy stories and pics on instagram. Not just of the royals but complete families, old and young.

part of Christian's day was to see a F-16 stimulator. The military took part as well.

and the good Viking start of the day

Great article from BT re the Royal Run
And that is precisely why Royal Run is so much a home run for the Royal House.

Not just because it's popular, but because it actually makes a small difference and is so well in line with the King's focus areas.

In addition, it is just something special to see the Royal Family in running clothes, sweating and completely down to earth, while they give the Danes running medals, high fives and take selfies all in one go.

It is really unique for Denmark, and I don't think there are many other countries where you would even allow the close access to a royal family.

Royal Run brings together the Danes like few other events during a year, shows our royal family from the side we like best - and again this year it was a huge triumphal procession.

The list of the race times for the DRF

I think Josephine really had a breakthrough moment at the Royal Run yesterday! Good for her! All the kids have always been allowed to shine in their own way. It has not just been putting focus on Christian because he's the heir - all the kids have their moments of focus.

Josephine has received great praise and rightfully so. What a great personal achievement! 16.6 KM is something she did on her own, for herself. Way to go!

And the family too, her siblings were immediately there to support and congratulate her.

I love their sibling relationship. It always comes across as supportive and loving. All the kids feels special and focused on. Christian has never really been singled out or treated differently. Yes, obviously he is has always been the heir and now the Crown Prince and there are certain duties, expectations of him that his siblings don't have. Like now, he represents the DRF on his own in one of the Royal Run cities. But, his siblings don't get pushed aside or ignored. They each get focus as people and not just the heir's back-up (I hate the word spare - it is a person, not a tire in the trunk of a car!!). Plus, none of them have been put into boxes or anticipated roles! They've been allowed to be kids and now teenagers. M&F can be very proud! They did amazing during this year's Royal Run, as they've done every year before that!
