The Princess of Wales Jewels 2: January 2025 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Regarding the religion of Ms Caplan it's obvious from her comments on social media how touched she is that the necklace was worn for the remembrance ceremony so the symbolism seems to have been noticed.
Bravo to the Princess and the sentiment and symbolism was so fitting for the occasion.

Outside of here, and some jewelry observers, all people saw was that Catherine was wearing a nice string of pearls. Entirely appropriate in looks, color and size, no brand name attached, no logos anywhere so she's hardly made it about herself or about the necklace. If some people caught on that there's some Jewish connection, nice, but other than that, there's really been no fuss and the attention has been on the couple's interaction with those joining the event, luckily. Correct me if I'm wrong but as far as we know, the seller has been the one to claim that the pearls are from her line, and as always, there hasn't been any press release from KP as to what brands Catherine's wearing. Why would wearing new jewelry be a huge deal versus wearing new clothing in such an event? I'm sure some fashion blogs out there have identified the brands of the clothes she wore, would that have been Catherine drawing attention to these brands or would that be like her selling clothes at a funeral?
There were online magazines articles about her wearing the pearls. Also, I am not necessarily against royals buying new or new to them jewels, in fact the jewels for sale or auction thread is my favorite thread on the forum. I am against buying pearls when they have an abundance of them. I am against promoting a brand at a memorial/remembrance service no matter if the brand was moved. It’s performative because it doesn’t change what happened to the Jewish people and it takes the focus off of why they were there because everyone noticed the necklace. She could have waited for her next engagement to wear the necklace and the brand would have gotten press anyway. The clothes she wore were repeats and probably not a Jewish brand because I don’t think she has worn many.

So am I right in thinking that your objection is that Catherine wore something purchased from a retailer who had Jewish ownership and wore it to the Holocaust memorial?

It should also be clarified that it was not KP but the retailer that made this information public.

But if you look at the website it is sold on nothing is mentioned about the owners religion, so it is very likely Catherine didn't know and IMO quite likely it wasn't worn just because of that link. The connection has been made by the owner of the company themself as far as I can see but not by Catherine or her team - from their point of view it is potentially nothing more than a coincidence and that necklace was chosen purely for aesthetic reasons only. Unless KP is saying she wore a necklace from a Jewish owned company to a Holocaust memorial there really isn't anything to it IMO, the rest is just coincidence.

Going by this logic, every time Catherine attends a solemn occasion, she shouldn’t wear anything new as people would remark on it and would be akin to her bringing attention to the brand and would therefore be performative…

The 4 ring stack is here to stay - she has worn it for the last number of engagements. I think maybe she will only wear the big engagement ring to the big events

I know this ring stack has been discussed but I can’t find it. Could someone please help? Thanks! :flowers:

It is clear Catherine is enjoying the stack of bands. How often she changes between her rings is for her to choose; she pretty much wore the large sapphire and diamond cluster ring every day for 12-13 years, so shaking it up a bit is no bad thing.

To me the big sapphire ring has always seemed more of a hindrance than anything else. I really don't blame her for choosing a more low key "everyday" ring whilst keeping the other for big set piece events.

I’m not too keen on ring stacks, but I do appreciate how they can be important to the wearer as reflecting various personal moments in their lives.

I think there is something as to how the ring stack is Catherine personally and preferentially, as opposed to something she inherited from someone else (who was extremely famous, to boot).

I mean, I'm usually not a huge fan of ring stacks, but I really hate that sapphire ring lol. Diana picked it out from a ring catalog in 1981, and I'm sure it was very fashionable for the time, but I just can't get behind it!
My favorite royal engagement rings (that I know of) are Queen Elizabeth II's and Queen Camilla's.

Great Look. The pearl Choler seems to become a favorite of Catherine
It's not my favourite, it's dated in my opinion and esp this time with the box neckline its all too much. I am sure the vaults have other necklaces to come out for an airing

It must have sentimental value to the Princess along with Diana's earrings.
They both seem to be firm favourites with Catherine.

Personally, I do not see chokers as dated. The Princess of Wales has the profile to bring pearl chokers back into fashion.

The pointy thing on top of the diamond clasp always makes me fear it will push into the neck.

Pearl necklaces in general are not often worn anymore, let alone chokers. We seldom see any of the younger queens with them, even though they are older than the Pss of Wales. On [European] women in general it is seldom worn by somebody under 70 years old. It is good to see Catherine using them.
