The Princess of Orange, News and Events Part 2 (Jan 2024 - present)

The Dutch Royal House shared a beautiful photo of the Princess of Orange today in Madrid.

The Princess of Orange said:
“Madrid is like a second home for me, especially at a difficult time for me in Holland.
In a very Dutch way, I would like to thank everyone for taking care of my safety and having a good time here in Madrid.
Thank you very much”

Does the crown princess's Spanish sound like a native speaker's? Is her accent more Castilian or Argentinean?

Definitely not fluent like a native, and in some sentences a slight Argentine accent was heard.
I thought she memorized lines when revealing the plaque (I also think she was a little nervous), but she answered a few reporters in very short sentences and tended to switch to English.

She most likely indeed prepared some lines when revealing the plaque (as she would have done for any other occasion independent of the language). I didn't hear her speak English in any of the videos. She talked with the Alcalde in Spanish all the time without any trouble, in free speech used phrases that are specific to Spanish (and different from both Dutch and English) and when asked questions (or given instructions) by the Dutch media, she answered in Dutch.

I am very surprised that CA is not on native level - no matter what accent - with a native Spanish speaking mother and having lived in the country for a year. Very odd.

I doubt that assessment. Hola for example stated that her Spanish was perfect: 'hablando en perfecto español' - which is in line with Carlota's assessment earlier in this thread that her command of the language is really good with traces of a slight accent (both as it to be expected).

short videos when she got in the car and people trying little chat for the last time
Thanks for your answer. I did see videos of that moment. She first said goodbye to the 'señor alcalde' in Spanish and responded in Dutch to questions asked in Dutch by the Dutch media: "Heel fijn, dank u wel". "Het lekkere weer."

The Princess of Orange is a very beautiful young Lady. She grows more confident with each public outing.
A well educated, trained ,drop dead gorgious, intelligent, beautifull, strong, determent young woman.Bless her.
A natural born Queen to be one day. Nonesuch. From a generation of strong women.

When asked -during king's day- whether the opening of the flower garden in Madrid was the end of a difficult chapter in her life, she kind of avoided the question and started rattling about how she was thankful that she could thank Madrid in this way, that she was currently enjoying her life and studies in Amsterdam. That she is 'doing her best' in her studies but is still somewhat unsure when she will be done with her (Bachelor) studies - normally she would graduate this summer (meaning that she would have started her thesis work) but as we all know she had to change course because of security issues, including staying/studying in Madrid for a year, probably changed her program a bit). I am nonetheless curious what she will do for her master's - as that is the most likely next step.

The Coach of Princess Amalia did Wonders . Comparing when we see how she was during the former years . She (..) seems so friendly , so happy to be there. To the Dutch Posters I wanted to confirm you have a great future Queen Bravo !
