The Princess of Orange Jewels 1: 2022 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
The Mellerio ruby tiara is not one of my favourites and didn't work with her hairstyle.
Had the Princess of Orange had an upstyle is might have worked better.

I guess she’s experimenting . At least she’s keen to have a go wearing these gorgeous jewels - many youngsters might take a different view. The Queen seems happy to indulge her ( or perhaps it’s the King).

Never Princesses Mette Marit, Victoria, Stephanie, and former Mary , Maxima and Mathilde , were allowed to wear the grand jewels they are for the Queens. Much better ! To me the parure on Amalia was to much. But she knows already how to wear grand jewels... No surprise anymore

That tiara was worn by Maxima and Beatrix when they were princesses.
What I thought was too much was the top part of the earrings and the bracelet. It helps that she doesn't wear a necklace.

I could be wrong but I don't think there are jewels that are solely reserved for use by the Queen in the Dutch Collection other than Maxima's personal jewels.

:previous:

Princess Beatrix wore much of the larger jewels, also as a princess. including even the mellerio sapphire tiara at the wedding of the CPss of Denmark. The Wurttemberg tiara she wore at the state visit of Queen Margrethe II in the seventies and this particular ruby tiara by Mellerio she wore while she was in her twenties, at an event in Athens (don't remember which one it was). So in that light it fits into a Dutch royal tradition. As princess, Máxima has also worn the mellerio ruby tiara.

But I agree, it would be perhaps good to start with some smaller ones. Her grandmother's laurel tiara for example, which seems to be degraded to only those who are not expected to become Queen.

I think they only one who is only worn by the Queen is the Stuart tiara. Beatrix wore the ornate diamond and pearl tiara for her Wedding and also several times afterward but it was not often worn by Queen Julina. She also wore the big sapphire tiara a few times before becoming Queen.

I was wrong for Princesses Beatrix and Maxima and happy for Princess Amalia.
But Princesses Mette Marit and Victoria never wore Queens Tiaras until now.

I love that her parents are letting her wear whichever tiaras/jewels she wants to wear when she's attending state visits. I think she looks great in them.

The earrings were made from the wedding gift parure for Queen Wilhelmina by the city of Amsterdam. Queen Juliana had it broken up and had various earrings made for her daughters. This pair belongs to Queen Beatrix. The lower diamond in the middle can be replaced by a sapphire.

Lovely earrings. They have real presence, coming from a combination of length and the size of the stones. That they can be set with different coloured stones only adds to their appeal. I would love to see them being used with turquoise, citrines or amethysts.

Amalia was wearning a new watch by Cartier, named the Panthère. She was first spotted with it at the Grand Prix in Zandvoort and now at her meeting in Amsterdam.

Lovely jewels for Amalia tonight.

The tiara -which is a modest one for the Dutch collection- really stood out on camera. It seems much larger on her than on her grandmother and looked wonderful. I hope she will wear it more often, esp. as it is not a favourite of the Queen.

The brooch of the emerald parure with the big emerald 'pigeon egg' of the first Wilhelmina of Prussia, niece of Frederick the Great and mother of Luxembourg's first Grand Duke, is nice as well.

The earrings seem to be the modern emerald earrings of her mother.

The emerald bracelet is the one belonging tot he emerald parure and made by Schürmann, Frankfurt for Queen Emma.

On her back, to attach the sash, she has a smaller diamond and emerald brooch too.

The jewels of the Princess of Orange were well chosen and they all worked very nicely.

Digging into Máxima’a jewellery box for these earrings

Nice tiara on her this night and the necklace is a surprise too. But I am surprised why she is wearing this already. Why not stick to some less important pieces first.

Amalia's tiara appearances of 2025:

1 2 3
The princess looks beautiful.. But to be honest Iam Kind of dissapointed she wore so many new tiaras in that short time..

I thought the same, why so many "first time" in such a short time.? She could wear the same 3/4 tiaras for a couple of years and increase Step by step.. restraind would be appropriate given her age and she is no full time royal..

People are amusing. In some threads about some ladies there's complaints about never wearing new to them tiaras and in this one there's complaints about someone wearing many new to them tiaras. Anyhow, unlike her mother, Amalia will be queen regnant someday and I see no reason whatsoever that she shouldn't wear almost anything they own, except maybe the Stuart.

I am someone who likes to see royals wearing new tiaras rather than sticking to just a couple for all their tiara - wearing life, but I don't think this is contradictory to the feeling that the Princess of Orange, as lovely as she looks, is rather young to be wearing so many serious pieces of jewellery, frequently together. Some jewellery seems to me to carry gravitas which I think is better suited for a more mature woman.
That said, at least she’s keen to wear these wonderful jewels.

By this speed she will be trough the whole collection by the time she is 25…Im curious if Beatrix did the same or did she save more jewels for after marrriage and when she became Queen…? The stuart diamonds seems a bit much for a 22 year old. She looks lovely of course, though I think stronger colors suits her more.
